Just wanted to say how much I like the idea of WWE declaring a major Wrestlemania match-up so far in advance. I've read some comments here on the site to the contrary, and I'm not trying to convince anyone, just thought I'd focus on the positive.

I have to admit that after paying a hefty price for a main floor seat at WM27, (partially to see the long awaited WM return of the Rock in a non-wrestling capacity), I was a little disappointed that the next night, they outdid themselves by announcing that he would be actually wrestling in the main event next year. I got over it, though.

I have to tell you, that it was hard to get excited about attending my first live Wrestlemania when the card was not finalized until a couple of days before the event, and even up until showtime, there were changes.

That's why I got over the Rock-Cena WM28 announcement so quickly. I have watched every Wrestlemania, most of them live, and this brings me back to the early WM's when they announced the big matches three-four months in advance. That just doesn't happen anymore.

I remember the build-up to Hogan-Andre at WM3, and what a nail-biter it was, as a kid. You had months to speculate on who would prevail. Even the long build up to Warrior's return at WM12 after such a long absence, they wouldn't even show him on camera until the event. What anticipation it created. Same goes with Hogan-Bundy at WM2 and the Title tournament at WM4... Those were the days.

Sure it was a different time, and there wasn't a Raw or Smackdown every week back then. Back then there were shows like Prime Time Wrestling and Wrestling Challenge which rarely showed what we now would consider PPV quality matches, so it was easier to anticipate the big matches, and it took a lot longer to market them.

I can see both sides of the coin, but I just wanted to say that it's nice to see WWE try something different, or at least reviving a few traditional ideas. I say kudos.
