He was planned to get it a couple of years back when he won KOTR, but he got suspended.

Regal should be in the Hall of Fame as soon as he retires. He should stay on after he retires as professional wrestler. I hope he gets a nice singles run leading to a retirement match (make it against D-Bryan, master/student feud).

But treating the world title as a pity fuck does nothing for the belt. I agree that he deserved it, but he'll be a legend no matter what. I don't think Regal can do the fulltime schedule during the build, which is a reason to not give him a shot. To add: Regal with his age defeating John Cena with his physique is not really believable. Maybe he could steal a win, but before he can be in that situation he would have to beat CM Punk, ADR, etc., and that also wouldn't be believable. Steal a win, okay, but regularly beating the younger guys would be really bad booking.

I read Regal's tweet and believe it was a half joke, half wish to get a house show title shot in England. They could have him win it, if they really want him to walk out of the ring with the title for one night.

I wouldn't do it, but wouldn't be disgruntled. But I'd rather have them give him a classy retirement match.

Okay, so you want the WWE belt, to change hands a live show? Over seas? In England? To William Regal? Only to have him lose it? Like a week later? And you think by doing that the IWC and the older fans will be happy?

Did you see what happened the last time they tried that? It was a guy named Christian. And the entire IWC (myself included) is still pretty pissed off by it.

Let me ask you this? Do you know why people are given the opportunity to be WWE or WHC champion? 2 reasons
1.) They are the best performer in the company UNDENIABLY and cannot be denied the title. (Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, HHH, Christian)
2.) They will put asses in the seats and sell a SHIT TON of merch. (Hulk Hogan, SCSA, Jeff Hardy, John Cena, HHH, Ric Flair)

Hands down William Regal is UNDENIABLY one of the best technical wrestlers in the entire WWE. Unfortantly, WWE already has his replacement: Daniel Bryan.

Giving Regal the title just to make the IWC and the older fans happy, because he is loyal and deserving is dumb. NOW I'M NOT SAYING THE MAN DOESN'T DESERVE THE TITLE AND ISN'T LOYAL! He does and he is.

The Mark Henry Argument
Yes cause I know this is coming. Mark Henry is loyal and deserving of the title and has now gotten it. HOWEVER, William Regal goes on a break (injury suspension w.e) and comes back. There's not a really good way to bring him back. I mean sure vignettes and promos and etc. but it's still not gonna work.
Henry on the other hand is MASSIVE and HUGE, and and to make a return/impact all he has to do is give the worlds strongest slam to big show kane and UT and BOOM he's back on top of the world. Cause it's believable. In 2006 when Mark Henry lost to UT at WM and then took him out a few weeks later do you remember what Henry did throughout the summer? To occupy his time while we awaited UT's return do you remember what he did? NOT A DAMN THING! But come September when UT came back Henry was already lined up and in the main event of Unforgiven with UT. Why? Cause he's huge and we could all believe that he hasn't done anything of importance and could still destroy the UT.
Regal can't do that.

Final Argument
Regal deserves the WWE or WHC I really mean that. However, you want him (and he's ridiculous for thinking this as well) to go from NxT (a web show that I hardly doubt ANYBODY watches) to main eventing RAW as WWE or SD as WHC?! Come on!? Mark Henry has ALWAYS been ON TV. And has ALWAYS been pushed (whether it be on and off again). Regal? Honestly, to me, Regal hasn't been relevant in a LONG LONG LONG time. One of my favorite matches EVER was Regal/Beniot No Mercy (2006?) it was Beniot's return match after a sebatcle (he was "injured" by Mark Henry iroinically now that I'm thinking lol). The match was amazing and fun. Guess what? Nobody remembers it at all. Regal will ALWAYS be remembered as a great technician, who never got a fair shake at the WWE title....who once drank Chris Jericho's "piss".

I agree Regal deserves the title, but its not gonna happen now. and not anytime in the near future. or anytime ever. He's over the hill, and as Marx said treating the title like a pity party does nothing for it or the wrestler who holds it. Regal would have been a great champion, should have been champion. but unfortunately it never happened, and never will.

The best Regal can hope for is a a title SHOT at a live event. Let him cheat to win the belt, but then some how have the decision reversed and the match restarted and then get FU'ed for the quick win.

BEST CASE SCENARIO.

I didn't mean for it to be a pity party for sure. Like all of you, I can't think of a plausible situation where he CAN build up and win the World title because you all are right, there is no way that he can get it.

I just feel bad for the guy, he kissed asses, drank piss, and feuded with a pirate..

Regal will unfortunately never get the title. The WWE is more preoccupied with ratings to put the strap on him. They don't really care much for sentimentality, except when it's a guy Vince is in favor of big time. With him flipping out on Raw and being in a bad mood, I don't think even that will matter.
