This past weekend I was at work, reading some blogs on this site, and started thinking about from the time i started watching wrestling to now. As i have said in previous blogs, I didn't become a fan until 2002, and i know a lot of exciting stuff happened before then, but I have greatly enjoyed what I've seen since becoming a fan. It was then I decided I would do a blog for each year from when I became a fan, on the top 10 from each year. It could be a match, a feud, a moment, whatever it may be, to me it was what help set that year a part. In this blog, I am going to look at numbers ten through six. Lets being shall we?
#10
Brock Lesnar Shooting Star Press
Brock Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble, and Kurt Angle retaining his WWE title against Chris Benoit that same night in a stellar match, the stage was set for the main event of WM 19. Brocks chance of regaining a title he was screwed out of back at Survivor Series, Kurts chance to prove his dominance by putting down the Next Big Thing. Heading into the biggest show of the year, Kurt suffered a legit injury, injuring his neck, but being the best he is, still worked the main event. The match we saw, was the 2nd best of the night, but had the biggest moment of Wrestlemania 19, the infamous Brock Lesnar Shooting Star Press. Granted he botched the move, it was one of those moments where fans go HOLY SHIT! something missing from todays product.

Randy Orton spins in the face of hardcore legend Mick Foley
The year of 2003 was a good year to Orton. He was a part of the most dominate stable at the time, his Legend Killer gimmick was catching on like fire, and he was really starting to get himself over as a good heel. The night on Raw when this match was set to go down, watching Mick leave the ring, go grab his bag, and start to leave, I was disappointed. But when Randy caught up to him in the back, and then spit in his face, I didn't have any idea it would head where it did(Backlash 2004 match). I also feel like this moment really helped push Orton into another level. You had Mick Foley who was respected for busting his ass night in and night out, doing stuff no other man would, being disrespected by the pompous ass that was Orton. Definitely a big moment in my opinion.

Kane feuds with Shane McMahon
Kane had just finished his feud with RVD, and turned his attention to Linda McMahon. Watching Kane tombstone Linda onto the entrance way, gave me a shudder simply for the fact that Linda looked like skin and bones being so small, but to see someone as massive as Kane do that, nasty looking. This led to the return of Shane O Mac though, and some intriguing moments. Kane trying to throw Shane into burning dumpster but instead falling in himself, Kane hooking up jumper cables to Shanes testicles, Shane McMahon diving from the tower to take out Kane in their Last Man Standing match at Unforgiven, only to have it backfire and have Kane win, Shane tricking Kane into a limo, that gets torn in half after accelerating into a trailer, and then their final meeting at Survivor Series in an Ambulance match that Kane won. This was one of the more memorable feuds of 03.
#7
Chris Jericho feuds with HBK
I remember the build up to this, the promos between one another with egging each other on going into the Rumble, then the Rumble match itself with HBK entering as #1, Jericho as #2 but Christian helping Jericho trick HBK so Jericho could sneak behind and eliminate HBK right from the start, and then their promos going into Wrestlemania 19. There were some decent matches on the card that evening, and some that had much more build and depth to them, but quality wise, this match stole the show in my opinion. Then Jericho staying true to the egomaniac he is, low blowing HBK after Shawn wins and they hug. This feud and match, was a great way to start 2003 off.

Vince McMahon defeats The Undertaker in Buried Alive
I enjoyed the build up to this feud, with it starting when McMahon screwed Taker out of the WWE title in his Biker Chain match with Brock Lesnar. The match itself between McMahon and Taker wasn't anything amazing or rememberable, but the ending with Kane interfering on McMahons behalf screwing Taker and helping secure the win for McMahon.
Well thats numbers 10 through 6. Sometime within the next day or so I will get numbers 5 through 1 out.
