OO: Ozfan's Opinion - Booking WWE SummerSlam 2013

Hey everyone. Welcome to Double O! I am Ozfan and I am here with another opinion of mine. This will be based on how I would book the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View, SummerSlam. SummerSlam always has to be good. It is part of the 'Big Four' along with Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and of course, the big one: WrestleMania! Just to clarify, the following bookings will NOT be like a Dreamcard, such as 'Undertaker vs. John Cena' or 'Batista vs. Ryback'. I hope you all enjoy.
John Cena (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
This match was announced the night after Money in the Bank. It a definate BUT I can always add a stipulation that would be suitable for this match. Cena and Bryan have competed against each other in Singles and Tag Team matches, both with Cena coming out on top. Bryan has never beaten Cena. For a match where Bryan would have a great chance at winning would be a.....SUBMISSION MATCH! Both men are Submission Specialists. I would love to see these two go at it to make the other tap out. I think this match would be a good candidate for Match of the Year in my opinion. If this were to happen, Cena would most likely win but it would most likely be one of those matches where you wouldn't know for sure. If Cena were to tap to Bryan, let alone lose the WWE Title to him at all, this would probably be historical. If Cena loses, I cannot see Cena regaining the title for another year since he is up to his 11th reign. 13th overall. So the factor that comes down to it is the fact that Cena has not really had a long reign. They didn't have him defeat The Rock for the strap just for nothing. They obviously have big plans. Hell, I can even see Cena maybe holding onto the title until Hell in a Cell or even Survivor Series, but I do not think Cena will be the guy Randy Orton cashes his Money in the Bank contract on. Either way, I think the stipulation would make the match even greater.
Tag Team match
The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan
For the pre-show, I did not know what to put. I was thinking of booking a Tag Title match but I thought I would leave it for the main card. The Usos are on the rise in the tag team rankings but because the Wyatt Family is here, Harper & Rowan will be too very soon. In my opinion, this would be a good tag team match, but I would not expect it to go past 5 minutes. Easy choice, if this match happened, Harper and Rowan would most likely be the winners.
United States Championship
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Mark Henry
Because of The Shield's attack on RAW, I can expect Mark Henry to be feuding with them. I like the idea of Henry receiving a U.S. Title shot and quite frankly, unless he can find a good tag team partner, I'm pretty sure he would be feuding mainly with Ambrose. Plus it is good to keep Henry in the title hunt, even though its only for a mid-card title. Although, I cannot see him winning it, but it would be good to see him as United States Champion pretty soon. No doubt, Ambrose will find a way to win, whether he cheats (hint hint) or another countout victory over a big man, but I'm actually quite sick of the Count out victories or losses. I think Ambrose should gain pinfall wins to build him up in the rankings for when he eventually does lose the championship.
Christian vs. Ryback
I think this would be a good addition to the card. I would like to see how good Captain Charisma does going up against the Meathook Maniac, Ryback. Ryback has only won one PPV match this year, let alone since last year so it would be expected for him to pull off another back to back win. Get him back onto the scene and re-build him back up to WWE Championship status. Although, it would be a great win for Christian to further a potential push for him into the main event scene. Perhaps a feud with Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title. It would give him his ONE MORE MATCH that he's wanted for nearly two years now. It's been way too long since he's had a title shot.
WWE Tag Team Championship
Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins (c) vs. Jack Swagger & Antonio Cesaro
I personally like the idea of a Heel vs. Heel Tag Team match. And because it would be for the Tag Team Championship, that makes it even better. This would be good for The Shield because they are gaining wins over both Faces and Heels, proving how good they really are, taking out anyone who gets in their faces. No matter what though, I cannot see The Shield losing any of their gold for another couple/few months. Swagger and Cesaro might use dirty tactics but Reigns & Rollins might do the same as a counter, which leads to them getting the win.
Kane vs. Bray Wyatt
Okay...no brainer right here. Of course Kane is going to get revenge on the Wyatt Family for taking him out, causing him to be scratched from the Money in the Bank Ladder match. He would most likely start off with the leader, Bray, the former Husky Harris. But that is a different story. Because Bray is a fresh new member of the main roster (in a way), then I can't see Kane winning. A win over Kane will easily do Bray Wyatt good in the future. I would like to see Bray pushed in the United States Championship direction in the near future, perhaps even have The Shield feud with The Wyatt Family over the U.S. and Tag Titles. But for now, I think this match would be a good addition, but most likely a time filler.
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam
We need to find a good use for Orton and Van Dam for an event such as SummerSlam, the biggest party of the Summer! I would love to see a match between these two. Last time these two faced off, Orton was till rising from mid-card to main event status. Now, Orton is a nine time World Champion, Mr. Money in the Bank and Van Dam is still fresh from his return. If this match happened, I would love it if these two went at it for at least 15-20 minutes. This match could be the match of the card. However, I do not know who would win. Orton might, since he is now back in the main event scene, but Van Dam lost his return match and won a match against Chris Jericho earlier this week. I think Van Dam needs a PPV win but at the same time, so does Orton now that he holds onto something that almost guarantees he will be champion again.
Singles match for Sandow's Money in the Bank contract
Damien Sandow (MITB) vs. Cody Rhodes
Obviously Rhodes is a face now and obviously these two will begin a feud. If this happens, I think it should have a stipulation. So perhaps have Sandow put his Money in the Bank contract for a World Heavyweight Championship shot on the line. Rhodes pretty much deserves this match. He was built up greatly in the Ladder match at Money in the Bank, came oh so close to winning and them BAM! His partner shoves him off the ladder and steals the win, ensuing a brawl between the two the next night on RAW. I think that this might make a good match and it would be funny if Rhodes won the briefcase because it would make Sandow the second guy to lose this contract (the other being Mr. Kennedy......KENNEDY!) and if Del Rio stays champ for some time, Rhodes cashing in on a heel champion might be an awesome decision. It would also allow him to win the World Heavyweight title, just like his father Dusty Rhodes did. Have Rhodes challenge Sandow for the briefcase. Then have Sandow laugh and mock Cody and ultimately decline. Then have Rhodes attack him, finally setting up the match.
Last Man Standing match
CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman
This match will probably be announced either next week or the week after. I saw this match coming, along with a lot of others as soon as Lesnar attacked Punk. Also, Punk mentioned the words 'last man standing' in the promo that he cut during his segment with Paul Heyman last Monday on RAW. This would hands down be a great match. If a Last Man Standing stipulation does not happen, a regular singles match would be just as good. A No Disqualification stipulation might be good too. That way we can have a clean pinfall or submission match. Either way, I would KILL to see Punk vs. Lesnar. If it happens, I can't see Punk winning...not at all. I just can't picture him pinning him for a three count, making him tap out or beating him up until he cannot get to his feet by the count of ten. If this happens, my pick is Lesnar.
World Heavyweight Championship
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
If Del Rio loses by Disqualification or Count Out, Ziggler wins the title
If Ziggler loses by Disqualification or Count Out, he cannot receive another shot as long as Del Rio is champion
AJ Lee and Big E Langston are banned from ringside
Because of AJ's distraction and interference, Ziggler failed to win the World title back at Money in the Bank. A rematch took place, leading to Del Rio winning after AJ distracted Ziggler by ringing the ring bell. If one final match between these two takes place, I would love to see those stipulations added. Del Rio must will lose the gold if DQ'd or Counted Out and this would be Ziggler's last chance to win the title. If AJ being banned along with Big E Langston from ringside, then this match will finally have a clean and fair ending. No cash ins, no targeting a concussed head and no interferences. If this happens, Del Rio should retain so he can have a longer reign. This would be a good way to build up a new feud because if Ziggler wins the match, they will have another one or two matches for the gold. Too many to have consecutively.
