Sapphire is okay. I assume ROM? I'm not sure how stable it is, but it really shouldn't be a problem at all. If it's a cartridge, definitely.

Generation III is... interesting. However, there are some badasses like Sceptile and Blaziken (Grass/Fire starters), Seviper (Badass Snake), and Torkoal (Steam Engine Turtle!). While my 2nd least favorite of the series, there's nothing wrong with those games. Plus they have a new thing called contests which I recommend you try once or twice.
