It turns out that WWE used the same airline from the 2019 travel woes in Saudi Arabia this week for Super ShowDown.

WrestleVotes reported the following:

“After the last Saudi trip in November, which included the travel “delays”, WWE management let talent know they would look into alternative charters for their next trip as opposed to using Atlas Air again. The crew heading back to Saudi this week boarded Atlas Air last night. LOL.”

Last year, a rumor started by former WWE Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich that WWE was owed millions of dollars for two of the shows that the company held in Saudi Arabia, between $300 to $500 million.

At the time, WWE issued the following statement regarding the crew being stuck on the airplane in the country and blamed it on mechanical issues, which many stars didn’t believe was the case.

“We have a good relationship with our partners, and the feed issues were unrelated to anything of that nature. We’ve been public with mechanical issues, the charter company has as well.”

Regarding the plane having mechanical failures, a majority of the talent didn’t believe the story. The reason for that is due to there being military police there while they waited and them being held up for 24 hours despite attempts to get on a second plane.
