eWN's Music Discussion Thread

I absolutely love Jane's Addiction. Their last album, The Great Escape Artist is a solid album and a great listen. They will probably never top Nothing's Shocking or Ritual De Lo Habitual, artistically, but they even on an off day, they're streets ahead of most other bands.

Also recommend: Perry Farrell's Satellite Party. :)

I laughed at that reference. I will give them a listen after I'm done with iron apes suggestion... do you have any suggestions on songs to listen to by perry farrell's satellite party?

I listen to anything and everything, with the one exception being country (I fucking hate that shit with the fiery passion of a thousand suns). My only requirement with the stuff I listen to is the stuff being superlative. Bands more concerned with radio play than being the best at what they do don't interest me in the least, and I can smell that shit from a mile away.

fair enough, though I can't really say I'm one of those people beings my favorite band happens to be fairly popular. I have to admit I never give rap or country the respect I should I tend to stay in the rock genre way too much.

Bands can be commercially successful and still be good at what they do. The Foo Fighters are a perfect example of that. Unfortunately, though, they're more of an exception than a rule; the overwhelming majority of stuff on terrestrial radio is absolute rubbish.

The foo fighters are my favorite band so that worked out well. haha :) I also think the black keys put out quality album after album.
