Great to see Alberto as champion again

Yeah Great win for ADR. Honestly when this guy first came on the scene I didn't care for him but he's grown on me and I think he deserves it. SD this week was very entertaining as well.

I'm starting to expect ADR vs Orton at Wrestlemania. I'd also be willing to bet ADR, Orton and Ziggler all feature in the Elimination Chamber (with Sheamus, Big Show and someone else) with one of those 3 leaving as champ.

Couldnt agree more. I'm a huge ADR fan and the irritating thing was how misused he was. He was the most generic of the generic heels as nobody cared after a month that he had more money than them. The writing for him was awful and the booking even worse...how can a heel be booked to completely squash the upper Midcard week after week? It was flippant.

As a face it just works. He needed a change and rather than giving him an absence and bringing him back as a heel that people had already lost interest in they did a brilliant move. He has the passion and Latino fire (pardon the cliche*) to get the fans over as shown by the celebration you refer to. He has the look the girls will like, looks like a star which can convince the kids, he even has the skills to satisfy the IWC fans who refuse to back anyone without top "technical" skills. He is a fantastic and versatile worker who can put on great matches. He is almost the total package.mand ring psychology speaking, his moveset works too. The kicks and drop kicks to the big show etc. shame he's a transitional champion but I'd rather see him hold till Mania then lose to a cash in and feud with dolph rather than just evaporating.

* I know they need their Mexican face for business but I hope he doesn't become a gimmick talking bout his Latino fans every week. Wouldn't that alienate the Americans?

Yeah i don't really get why this match didn't take place at the Rumble or at least on a live Smackdown.

It was weird... I never liked Del Rio, but then I warched Smackdown and I enjoyed him as a face! I don't know how that happened! And then he flipped the table and I lost my shit! I was so confused! I was fine with Del Rio getting the title which as amazing considering how awful he was previously.

Again, it shows that true talent with wrestling in their blood, so to say, can achieve great things when given the trust and the capability to have an intake on their character...



McMahon : "So, we want you to become a heel"
Punk : "Ok"
Mcmahon : "No really, I don't know how you think you can do this, but we want you to become heel"
Punk : "Is he serious? I get it, you want me to become heel"

Didn't feel like a strong enough reaction from the crowd as I expected. Still feel like people don't like him, but that pop he got giving the keys to his ring announcer before his match with Big Show was something.

The support of the crowd, the commentary from JBL, the emotion on Del Rio's face throughout the entire match made this feel like one of the most historical and genuine moments I've seen from the WWE in a while. Face Del Rio > Heel Del Rio. Glad he proved me wrong as he's come a long way of selling his character.

Before someone else says it - sure, now everyone is jumping on the Del Rio bandwagon when you all hated him before! Stupid IWC! You're all stupid and just because I post on an internet website doesn't mean I'm a part of the IWC because I say I'm not! So there! Nyah!

That said, I have decided that after his lackluster heel run, ADR is finally resonating with fans as a face and this win has served to put him over the top. You could sense the emotion in the win, that it happened on Smackdown and not really expected only adds to it's appeal. Plus, who doesn't want to see Alberto come around and start treating that perennial 5 and a half feet of awesome that is Ricardo Rodriguez with the respect he deserves?

In 3 months they did with ADR what they haven't been able to do with Snore Cara this whole time.
