The Miz's Figure Four botch was a work

Like most of you, I watched the Beat the Clock match between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz, and like most of you, I saw how The Miz "botched" the Figure Four leglock. Not only did I have a facepalm moment, but thought that Miz should stop using the submission move altogether.

He did it decent enough on both Raw and SmackDown last week, but tonight he looked like he couldn't do it at all. It was horrible.

Then I saw this...

No wonder Cole and Lawler kept saying Miz was rushing ahead during the match. WWE is already in contract disputes, and this is just a lame attempt to bring Ric Flair back in on a more permanent basis. If this was WWE's plan, we all fell for it.

Thoughts?

I really hope there not trying to make Miz into the new nature boy, for me.. it could have only worked for Ziggler in my opinion and even saying that.. there's only one nature boy! Woooooooooo! :D

Rogers put a then-young Flair over in a feud and "passed the torch" of the gimmick to him in the late 1970s. A large part of Ric's gimmick, from the submission to the strut, originally belonged to Rogers.

I knew I wasn't too far off. But giving the Miz a bit of the Nature Boy gimmick would be nice. Like adding the Figure Four, amplified showmanship and other bits and pieces could work. Full on just might not work out as well.

I think the figure four leglock is as far as WWE is going to go with this, and unlike alot of people, I'm happy The Miz has a well-known submission finisher added to his arsenal.

But yeah, it looks like WWE is going to make Ric Flair his manager. Had Miz botched that move accidentily, WWE would've pretended it never happened and moved on. Not only did we get an online video of Miz talking about his "mistake", but they'll probably talk about it again on SmackDown. Just a way to phase Flair back in.

And they couldn't pick Ziggler who's been doing so hot lately? They've tried everything with this Miz guy.. He even headlined wrestlemania and they still can't figure out what to do with him.
