What if Lesnar interfered in the Punk vs Rock match? Punk and Lesnar have connections through Heyman. Say if this happens it could lead to a Lesnar Vs Rock fued before Mania. This also allows both Rock and Lesnar to take time off because both are limited. What Vimce said was THE SHIELD cannot intervene but that does not mean someone else (Lesnar) can't. This not only saves Punks streak but could bring Lesnar back to relativity. What do you guys think?

What if nobody interfered, and the two men just duked it out until there was an eventual winner?
You can be considered an equal even if you don't win. Cena was made to look like Rock's equal at WrestleMania, even though he lost a close match. If Punk retains yet AGAIN thanks to outside interference, he looks like the weaker man, the inferior competitor, instead of an equal.
But knowing WWE, this will probably happen anyways.
This is exactly why CM Punk's current reign as WWE Champion, despite it's length, hasn't been anything special. He hasn't had any sort of dominance whatsoever.
The babyface title defenses were clean, but against upper-midcarders and jobber-to-the-stars like Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, and The Miz, and none of them were in the main-event of a PPV.
The heel title defenses were all dirty, and despite being in the main-event, all required overwhelmingly tremendous help from multiple people.
Nearly a year and a half later, Punk looks no stronger now than he did when he cut the pipebomb promo.
Summerslam, Night of champions. Were not dirty... Summerslam he took a pin on Show after Cena AA him. And NOC Cena was being a dumbass and got a draw.Quote:

Exactly, while he's not winning all of his matches clean he's doing what many heel champions do and that's win dirty. It's part of the buildup as a heel character to "cheat to win" as Eddie Guerrero would say.
At SummerSlam he wasn't full-blown heel yet. Turning heel, but not quite there yet. And Night of Champions WAS a draw, but it wasn't a win.Quote:

A 400-500 day world title reign is supposed to be something special. There are only 4 other men in the history of WWE, WCW, and ECW COMBINED that have ever held a reign this long. This reign was supposed to be memorable. For the most part, it hasn't been memorable at all. Part of the reason is because wrestling isn't as big as once was, but another reason is booking.
If CM Punk can cleanly defeat The Rock this Sunday, he'll rack up there with the big boys. The legends. The greats. If he loses, or he cheats to win, then the past 430 days are exactly what Mick Foley said they were back in October - a statistic.
