Exactly. Almost all wrestlers have their own sequence to end a match. It's not as if Cena does nothing in the other 15 minutes of his PPV matches...

Where would you put the biggest moneymaker in WWE right now? First hour of the show? Second hour? Sure the people you like are on the roster for 3-5 years. They should win the WWE title because you think they are good. Cena is on the roster 10-11 years. He deserves EVERYTHING he has
Am I the first in a long while to make a pro-cena thread. Awesome!
Exactly! I mean if anyone has seen Cena vs. HBK at Wrestlemania 23 (it's on youtube) it's not like Cena ONLY has five moves. I mean, we're talking about the main event at Wrestlemania! A thirty minute classic! If you were to count every single move and hold Cena performs in that match (punches excluded), surely he'd have more than just five. I'm sure of it.
I'm absolutely, positively sure that he can do more than five moves. Seriously, watch that match and count. There MUST be more than five moves. There has to be... Right?
I don't have a problem with Cena. I don't like him and that's my personal opinion and right. I do understand what his role is and understand why he is the way he is, because it's good for business.
Now why I don't personally like his character is simple. I'm a fan of heels. Cena is the polar opposite of that. He's a mega face that never does ANYTHING wrong. He ALWAYS does the right thing and he's a role model. He's always humble and he hardly ever comes off in his promos as arrogant. He's SUPERMAN.
I go to house shows with a group of kids and they all love the guy. They are decked out in Cena gear. So he has his place in wrestling and if he went away it would break some kids hearts, but for me and the type of wrestlers I like, the more heelish they are, the better I like them.
So it's not per-say "hating." It personal choice and listening to the crowd, it's safe to say I'm not the only one who Cena is not their cup of tea.
My biggest beefs with Cena are his gimmick and the WWE pretending that he's on the same level as a Hogan, Rock or Stone Cold. I have no issues with his work ethic. I know he does more than anyone else with charitable work. The dude never takes a break.
What I do think would work wonders for Cena's overall popularity would be having him take off 6 months to 1 year. Any time HBK took off for months and came back, his popularity would increase. Jericho is probably more popular today than he has ever been. The Rock started getting a bit meh before he took off several years. Lesner's popularity is probably at an all time high.
IMO, seems like people get sick of seeing the same ole same ole. You have to take someone away before you realize how much they are missed. Triple H was never as popular as he was after coming back from his 1st leg surgery.
I know the WWE feels their product would fall flat on it's face if Cena was gone 6 months to a year, but why not see? The WWE has always survived after losing it's biggest names. Seems like creative works harder to create new stars. Then when someone like that returns, they are over immensely...
[QUOTE=
In his eight years on top, Cena has never done that.
in fact, anyone who draws sizable momentum, has it curtailed by Cena getting involved,
in the last year alone:
Brock Lesners Monumental Comeback
Big Show's latest mean streak
AJ's mental state and Relationships
Dolph Zigglers selling and top quality matches
The Shield and their presence and destruction over the roster (Pending)
RANT OVER![/QUOTE]
Cena did not burry them, and he never curtailed anyone of these wrestlers. They were simply not good enough.
Why couldn't Cena curtail CM punk? Yea because he is much much better than all the other names you've mentioned.
Punk actually became the longest reigning champ in modern era after his matches with john cena.
When these junior competitors get a chance to go face to face with the biggest face John cena they need to perform like Punk did, but they could not simply deliver. Cena does not make them look weak but they are weak thats why they look weak.
Now Let me tell you why cena never loses clean..
1- Wrestling is a kids show right now
2- Yes, Cena plays the role of a super hero. Did captain planet ever lost a battle with any of the monster he faced? NEVERrrrrrrrrrrrrr .
3- Kids believe in super heros
4- They need a strong character like John Cena
5- Do you get the theme of this show now? No? let me tell you..Good always overcome the evil in movies, dramas and WWE in the end
6- WWE will never sue you for now watching
Everyone has their personal favorites as well as wrestlers they don't like. Plain and simple. If everyone had the same favorites it would be no fun. Does Cena get a lot of hate? YEP. But it comes with who he is, the character he portrays, the current era, and the current fan base.
I see nothing wrong with people hating him, just like I can't see anything wrong with people liking him. It's their own personal choice to like whichever wrestlers they want.
Most people are not hating on Cena on pure preference, or because they hate him, they are during it because they like to go against all of the true fans, they like to pull that type of bullcrap for no reason!
