He got fat... Plus all those injuries and ridiculous bumps he used to take had to catch up to him eventually :( I suppose he still does backstage stuff though.

He must've been one of the most over indy wrestlers on the circuit back in the day, though. I heard a rumor that he used to clear $40,000+ a year in merch sales alone.
