Alberto Del Rio Is A Joke!

Okay, truth be told...Alberto Del Rio is an overrated joke. He's getting a push that he clearly doesn't deserve. The only reason why he's getting a push is because he's a mexican & WWE is desperate on trying to develop another Mexican star because Rey Mysterio is just one more knee injury away from a career ender. Hell, Del Rio is not well liked by many in the WWE to begin with. His in-ring skillset is greatly limited (John Cena has a better skillset which isn't saying much) & It showed even more so on Smackdown this past week which is probably why he has only had three matches since his debut. It clearly makes sense why he got poor reviews when he was at FCW. I'm sorry but I truly believe he will fade in the end as he's just not that good let alone barely passable. His promos are okay & his in-ring skillset is poor let alone he's just not a guy that seems like a tough top guy. He looks like the kind of guy that could get knocked out in one shot.

After this past Smackdown with Rey Mysterio beating Del Rio maybe WWE has realized he's not going to work out & his push may begin to slowly die out. I know he just signed a new contract with WWE. So, he's not going anywhere but the guy is clearly not a top main eventer as he's a mid-card talent at best.

If WWE is so desperate for a young heel on Smackdown then send The Miz over there at least he's more plausable (granted, not great by any means) but a significant improvement over Albert "wannabe JBL" Del Rio.

Yeah I have to agree. I got tired of his push when I saw his first promo, which at first I thought was just an ad for some show on cable. The one where he was in "his" house? I was left thinking my seat had somehow become a time machine and I was watching a 1987 promo for Ted DiBiase.

Then I had to put up with watching Christian help sell him to no avail and thought for certain that he just had to be remarkable in the ring, that's got to be why they're pushing him. But no. The guy is on a par with Luke Gallows and I'm being generous about that!

Just another case of a WWE demographic-specific push of untalented wrestlers (HeadBangers, I'm looking at you). I shall refer to Del Rio from now on as 'The Million Peso Man'. Tito Santana is somewhere shedding a tear....Sorry Mexico.

He's like a mix between JBL and Muhammad Hassan, except Hassan is an exceptional wrestler, and got over WAY better than Del Rio ever could. del Rio is about as much use in the ring as an ashtray on a motorbike.

What gets me though, is that Mexico has TONS of talent for WWE to dig their teeth into. Why just go for the first guy they find over 240 lbs, to add to Vince's goon squad?

Agree. Now I hope the WWE doesn't completely ruin him.. I was so excited when he made his debut and I like watching him, now saying that is promo's have been pretty lame to this point.. So hopefully they change that and I hope Rio's push continues.

Well for one, just because he was respected in another country (Mexico) doesn't mean a thing just ask David Hasselloff. This is America NOT Mexico. WWE has had plenty of chances for other Mexican stars. So saying WWE can't push any other Mexican star is B.S. Yes, I already said Mysterio doesn't have much left but Del Rio isn't the replacement nor the answer. Del Rio has an exceedingly & poorly limited in-ring skillset & his promos are weak. WWE officials weren't high on him in FCW let alone had poor reviews & wasn't much liked by his peers.

So, really Del Rio is truly a joke. WWE has egg on there face for it too.

To be honest, I find your logic to be BS. I never said that they cant push any other Mexican stars, I said that they have no other Mexican stars to push. Name one Mexican star on the roster who would make a better argument for being pushed than Del Rio. You wont be able to. Just because this isnt Mexico doesnt mean he cant be respected, or do well. Look at Mysterio, he originally came from Mexico, being a highly respected star, and look where he ended up. So yes, Del Rio is the answer when it comes to replacing Mysterio as a top-level superstar. When WWE first published Del Rio's bio, for 10 minutes, a mistake was up there that said, "Is this good? I know this guy is supposed to be a big deal fairly quick." So obviously, the WWE wants to push him. He doesnt have a very limited moveset, in fact, he carries more moves than Mysterio. His promos are weak? Well I got news for you, so are Rey's. Del Rio is not a joke, and come a few months from now, you'll be eating your words.
