Aye, definitely. I grew up in a fishing town in NE Scotland, and the fish was always fresh haddock straight from the ocean. Amazing stuff, plus there was nary a grade-B pollock or any cod to be seen. (not that keen on cod, personally)
Oh, and I do prefer a breaded fish to a battered fish. Not much chippies seem to do breaded up this way though, but I assume it's because we as a nation enjoy coating fucking everything in batter. But yeah, it creates a better fish/chip/vinegar/sauce dynamic, or something. I also make up my own spicy breadcrumb mix for cooking sole, which I've almost got down to a fine art.
