I just realized Cena doesn't suck

Okay...maybe Cena does suck and I'll be sure to let him know live at the Raw after the Elimination chamber, but after watching the Piper's Pit (which could have been an awesome segment if the stupid fucking SC crowd didn't cheer for him) last night I suddenly became interested in the downfall (and eventual rising) of Cena's character, which will peak at wrestlemania. Look, we all know that Cena is gonna win. If you don't know that you don't know wrestling. As much as Cena sucks in the ring, I think they're doing a great job of developing his inner battle with who he is. Thoughts?

P.S. Another thing I will give Cena...I do think his one liners to the camera when he enters are pretty good. Come on guys us smarks need to start givin Cena credit!

Im successful in spite of you"

The only problem I have with Cena is his gimmick and what he does in the ring and how he does it. Since the Marine gimmick (2005) I always fast forward his matches (except the recent ones vs CM Punk) because they are always the same (doing nothing in the ring and beiong destroyed and most of the time win...). I believe his best match since he's in the WWE is his 1st one vs Kurt Angle. For the rest, he's one of the best, that's a fact.

But serioulsy I really think this thing vs The Rock is a waste of time if at the end there is no heel turn for Cena. The Rock is the best superstar Cena can have to start his heel turn who whould be at Wrestlemania. Cena will always be booed compare to The Rock, and it's for just one reason, the one I explain above, the fact that he does nothing in the ring but let his opponent destroy him, putting him over, OK, but giving us a boring matches. If Cena remains face after all that stuff with The Rock then what ? He will continue what he does day after day in the ring and so the WWE Universe will do, booing him. WWE must understand that he's a face for more than 6 years now and his gimmick should end ASAP.

There could not be a downfall and rise again for Cena if he remains face after Wrestlemania with his actual gimmick. No way. A heel turn is the only possibility for him to reborn.

No offense, this is only what I think :-)

Interesting look on things, personally I've never really understood the outright hatred people have for John Cena, go back and look at his OVW days or his early matches on smackdown, he's shown he can wrestle and perform well in the ring. But just like everyone who gets big in wwe their moveset is eventually cut down to a series of obvious and recognizable moves that people can recognize as theirs. I have never really been a 'fan' of Cena but he's always had my respect not only for his in ring work but all teh extra time and charity work he does for wwe.

And yoru right, he will beat rock at wrestlemania and as a rock hater it will be the greatest day in wrestling for me

I know this will be beating a dead horse, but I've been one of the guys who has NEVER believed they would turn Cena heel again. But after watching Piper's Pit. I agree with you guys. WWE is doing a good job with playing on his struggle to deal with the booing. Piper told Cena that if he doesn't tell the fans exactly what he thinks of them, then he'll always be in denial. That right there, is sort of leading me to believe that there is, just a small possibility, that this inner battle with the fans, will boil over into a heel turn. The likely hood of this happening is little to none, but it has happened sooo many times before where the face turns on the fans right at their peak. As a matter of fact, The Rock and Stone Cold have both done it before.

let me point out the bold, seeings as I am from SC

there are not many wrestling marks at all in SC, which is why he got cheered, most of the people who watch WWE down here, either think it's real, or don't care about it

as far as Cena goes, I agree, that would have been a really great segment, it still was good, but could have been better, anyway, I don't really hate cena in the ring or on the mike, I do hate a lot of "super cena" stuff, and that he's always in the main events, but it seems even some of that is starting to go down

and lol, his lines to the camera, are pretty cool

I still don't see it!! All I could see was a further strengthening of his current, 'Rise Above Hate,' thing he has going on!!

just off topic for a moment. In a week time this will be a very interesting thread. All people's opinions will give this thread a lot of heat.

    Now to go on topic:

I think what most of you people said untill now is true. He is gonna be one of the all time greats, but only if he gives the character a chance in a heel turn. Unlike what most people say, he shouldn't turn heel after Wrestlemania but before. Think about it. This is what all the internet marks are looking for. What a buyrate would that give to the event, we'll have a main event with The Rock and a heel Cena.

Okay what most of the people say is true. He sucks in the ring. His character is stale dead. He needs a gimmick change ASAP. BUT above all a heel turn. There is only one thing you can give him credit for. And that's the fact that he's a working horse. Every day he stands ready for the ring, for the kids, for the troops, for make a wish, for interviews and all those other stuff. I think WWE has never had a working horse like him.

That's something you can't say about The Rock, sure he is The Great One, with all of his other nicknames. He's one of the best WWE had to offer. But right now he isn't there. He said that he was here for the stay at his return back in february, but if you look at it. The only ways he's been there were three ways: 1) in a message via satelite, 2) on a few ONE moment return on the screen, 3) only 2 times on PPV (as host of WM and tag team at SS). Cena in comparisation has been here all the year. You couldn't look next to him.

Oh God, i'm gonna end it. Otherwise I'll keep on nagging..

    Just my opinion

This is the fall and rise of John Cena. But I don't think he'll be face again by wrestlemania i he's even turned by then. I respect the hell out of John Cena, he can wrestle, I'm bored of his character as is nearly everyone on here. The only times he's been interesting to me over the last few years is when he was in an opportunity to turn (nexus). He's lost half the crowd to boos already it'd be easy to turn the rest and it would be a natural progression for his character. Austin, Rock, Taker, Michaels, and HHH are all names that have carried the WWE as top face but they all played an excellent heel too which gave them a certain air which John Cena hasn't captured yet as a main event heel.
