I am more of an XBOX person, but I have to say that this new PS3 commercial kicks all kinds of ass.

My children have the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, Nintendo DS, and it doesn't matter which system we play on, I am constantly getting killed or my butt whooped by them in video games. Maybe because when I was growing up we had 3 channels on TV a video game - pong, or our bikes and a stick or fishing pole, that's it. But it's fun playing my kids even though they have a distinct advantage over me. My oldest loves HALO, and Gears of War and such.

Bought Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, the synopsis of it being a different game to the other Dead Rising 2 have been greatly exagerated.

Yeah, it's basically just Dead Rising 2 with Frank West swapped in. There are a couple of minute differences here and there, but nothing that really necessitated another physical retail release. And the sandbox mode? What a disappointment. I lost interest in less than an hour. Turns out those series-staple time limits and objectives were really just a clever mechanic utilized to distract folks from the fact that the core gameplay is actually kind of shallow and boring. When you're constantly being forced to move and press forward, you don't really have time to pick up on that kind of shit.

Completely agree, I enjoyed the original Dead Rising 2, but the sandbox mode was atrocius in this one, the challenges are uninspired and the sandbox mode offers nothing more.

Not sure if this has been brought up on here before but I'm just in the middle of downloading it on PSN so thought I'd post on here!

    Final Fantasy 8.

FF8 is my personal favourite game of all time. I loved every notion of it, from the solid plot and storyline to the simple card game. A lot of people prefer FF7 but I love FF8 a lot more.

Still haven't got around to playing the first Dead Rising 2. I absolutely loved the XBLA prequel of sorts "Case Zero" I must of played that through about 5 times. Made me really want to get the full game, when I hated the the time restrictions and whatnot of the first game.

I still got my PS2 copy of Odin Sphere.. "The Amazing Art Heavy, Sidescrolling, Multiple Storyline Having, Item Combining" Action/RPG is a must have for anyone who hasnt played the game..

Couldn't agree more. Shit, I liked it so much that I bought it for my PS3 even though I already owned it for PS2 (same with God Hand, actually).

Did you ever get a chance to play its spiritual successor, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, for Wii? It's one of my absolute favorites from this generation, and it makes me a little sad to see how much people have slept on it. Anyone with a dusty Wii sitting at home owes it to themselves to head on over to Amazon and pay the $10 that they're asking for a new copy (it's easily worth 5 times that). The lush, hand-drawn 2D animation is positively eye-gasmic, and the soundtrack will tenderly make love to your ears with its delicate pan-flute thrusting. You add in tight action, robust weapon leveling, and spectacular bosses and you're looking at a prime example of what makes gaming so great.
