Is it me, or has WWE failed to truly make Lauranitis a true, tyrannical, bad-at-his-job heel?
Let's see this through a bit;
The only things we made him established as a heel are his constant and annoying personal introductions (I'm John Lauranitis, GM of Raw, etc etc.), CM Punk constantly telling the crowd he sucks, his raspy voice, and Triple H saying he sucks too.
Other than those miniscule manners, nothing he has done as a character, made him to actually be a villain! All kayfabe, of course, he was fair, presented decent matches, if not good matches. He always tried to be fair (Seen in the last few episodes before HHH's review). And although WWE has tried to play it off as if he only did it to save his job, it wasnt effective, considering there hasnt been any real case of him attempting to screw anyone over. The only real "screwjob" he apparently had in store, was CM Punk @ the Rumble, but that never ensued. Everytime he cost Punk a match to Ziggler, it always was by accident; he was trying to make the match fair (kicking someone else out, helping a ref out, etc). Of course, WWE can play it out as he did it on purpose to screw Punk over. However, that's too much of a stretch: No one can tell what his character is thinking, and John did nothing to portray his character as attempting to screw Punk over.
All in all, i'm saying, the character of Lauranitis isnt truly what WWE makes him out to be: a tyrannical, bias, and unfair GM. Unless, you're a mindless sheep, that just buys into whatever Punk & HHH say, just because you love them.
The only thing that made him a heel was his annoying repeated announcements and arrogance. However, according to storyline, his job should be safe since he hasnt been unfair.
Just tryna point out a main flaw that irks me in this "Fire Johnny" storyline.
