You know the bad thing about Chinese Democracy? I had demo version of probably half the songs, live version of maybe 3 others- and they all sounded better than the finished product. The finished product- I only liked maybe 3 songs- one of them one I had never heard before. Whats bad is all during that time Axl was working on 1 damn CD, Duff put out a few solo ones- as himself and as Loaded, Slash has put out a few- with his last solo cd being the best(I will write a review on that on later) and they all sounded better than Chinese Democracy- as did everything that Slash, Duff, Matt did with Velvet Revolver

    [WB]

    The Whole Love

    Wilco
    [dBpm Records/ Anti Records]

Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon always get up there (especially the first one) and the judges probably don't even listen to most bands like they should. Also they always put an older band that usually made a bad studio album up for nomination taking it from a deserving contender.

Any electronic music fans on here that want to point me in the direction of more awesome minimal techno á la Plastikman, Gas and Trentemoller?

Clock DVA - Man-Amplified (1991). post-punky sounding industrial that sounds like it came straight out of a William Gibson novel. Cold, paranoid, menacing , low key kinda stuff.

Not sure if they could really be considered electronic music- but am and have always been a fan of KMFDM, pretty much anything Tim Skold has done- as a solo artist or even with KMFDM- just do a search on youtube for samples of their music. Industrail metal- Ministry, NIN

I do like other stuff like Skrillex, VNV Nation, Velvet Acid Christ, Paul Van Dyke(I think I spelled his name wrong). I pretty much listen to everything, not much country though.

Seeing as though we got to talking about G N R, I decided to review Slash's latest CD- ok he has a live one he released after this- which is also great- but just doing a review on the studio album. Anyways, Slash has many guest vocalist on the CD- and they all do a great job. Fergie, from the Black Eyed Peas, is the biggest suprise here- I mean she has a good voice when singing with BEPs, but she really shines on the songs she sings on. Even Adam Levine puts in a great effort on this. About the only song I do not care a lot about is the Ozzy one- its ok, just not great. And one of my fav singers is on this album too, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge. He sings on two studio songs on the first CD and a few live songs on the second CD- two of them G N R songs, and one Velvet Revolver song- doing them both great- Myles was also Slash's vocalist on the tour for the album(which Slash released a live CD of- and Myles also sounds great on that)
As far as the DVD part- I have yet to watch any of it.
    Verdict: Buy. 5/5

I think I might review a Hank Williams III cd next- not tonight of course.

Artist: Hank Williams III also goes by Hank III

    Album: Damn Right, Rebel Proud

    Genre: Country/Rockibilly/ hints of metal

    Track listing

All songs written by Hank Williams III except "Workin' Man" written by Bob Wayne.
    1. "The Grand Ole Opry (Ain't So Grand)" (2:35)
    2. "Wild & Free" (2:58)
    3. "Me & My Friends" (3:12)
    4. "Six Pack of Beer" (2:32)
    5. "I Wish I Knew" (3:30)
    6. "If You Can't Help Your Own" (3:32)
    7. "Candidate for Suicide" (3:41)
    8. "H8 Line" (3:12)
    9. "Long Hauls & Close Calls" (2:43)
    10. "Stoned & Alone" (5:12)
    11. "P.F.F." (10:01)
    12. "3 Shades of Black" (4:18)
    13. "Workin' Man" (3:01)

Grandson of Hank Sr, son of Hank Jr. Hank III sounds a lot like his grandpa- and if you have ever heard him do one of his songs- well, it is kind of hard to tell which one is which.

Anyways, Hank III started off doing punk music- but did the country thing to make money. Hank III also plays in one of Phil Anselmnos(Pantera) bands- Arson Anthem- playing drums. He also has played with Phil in another band- playing bass in Superjoint Ritual. Hank III also has his own metal band- Assjack. But he has made more country CDs than other genres.

this is his 4th CD, not including his Bootleg Series(I, II, III)

Anyways, it starts off with his Fuck You to the grand old opry- its not your country shit you hear today- its more like older stuff...its a lot like his other fuck you song to Country music of today- a song on his 3rd cd- Put the Dick in Dixie and the Cunt in Country. The next few songs are in that same style- down and dirty country

Tracks 8 and 9 have kind of a country metal vibe- not southern rock like your Lynard Sknrds and such- metal

Track 10- same style as tracks before 8 and 9

Track 11- Its actually in two parts- the song is called Punch Fight Fuck- the first part is metalish, the second part is the song done country style

Track 12 country, with touches of metal- reminds me of a Johnny Cash song

Track 13- just a good ole country song- a duet

Verdict: 5/5 I am not much of a fan of country except for some of the older guys- Waylon, his son Shooter Jennings, Johnny Cash- David Allen Coe- so if you like that- or just country a lil different buy this
