It was only when he had a chance at making it legit in hollywood that The Rock had to make choices between his career in movies or in wrestling,and fact is,he did everything he needed to in wrestling. Cena JUST made the Marine, a WWE studios film, why the hell would he say he was gonna be an actor now and no longer a wrestler. If John Cena did an 8Mile like Eminem and actually was received positively and praised for his performances in movies, it'd be stupid of him not to pursue acting. It's easy to say"Oh I'm a wrestler,always will be,I'm not an actor" when you're movie bombs and critics hate your attempts at acting.

IF Cena had the Rock's level of success in Hollywood, wouldn't he have made the same decisions and also left sports entertainment? You're free to disagree,as many respectfully have. Where did you come up with this theory that John Cena has dreamed of acting? Did you get that from Wikipedia too? One minute you're going on that the Rock was bridging a gap between Hollywood and wrestling, the next minute you're arguing that he needed to severe his wrestling association. Now, after he severed his wrestling association, you drum up this fodder about the Rock never telling WWE fans not to watch his movies. That's absurd.

The Rock was pressed for years and years about his wrestling credentials because wrestling fans were curious. In an effort to get more adult type roles, he crapped all over wrestling. Now that he's doing kiddy movies, he's back again. That is hypocrisy. That's what the word meaning of that word is. Reading comprehension. What is wrong with you?

In your first post,u suggested that the Rock just used wrestling as a means to an end, which is ridiculous if you look at his family history because he literally has wrestling in his blood for generations. Maybe I took that comment to mean more than you were saying, but it seemd like you, as many others here, think the Rock only used wrestling to become an actor. Now I realize you were making a different point, so my bad if I assumed you were getting at something,and I interpreted it as something else. Using the Rock's post-actor interviews is skewed,because obviously, anyone who wants to be treated seriously in Hollywood,would naturally need to distance themselves from something like professional wrestling. So just like you suggest,you can't look at any previous interviews about whether he wanted to be an actor(because they don't seem to exist) You can't really villify him for "turning his back" on the business,when all he did was take advantage of a golden opportunity.

-Austin was a "guest star" on a tv show,hardly the same thing as the Rock getting top billing and starring in major motion pictures. Hogan and others are in the same boat. No star in their time had that kind of buzz or recognition as the Rock,not even Hogan, not Austin, no one. Austin,also by and large did the same thing as the Rock,but to much lesser success. Why doesn't Cena come out and call Austin out for only showing up once or 2wice a year? Cuz he'd probably slap the shit out of him. The Rock got his break in the Mummy 2 and he got his first big role in Scorpion King. He then went on to star in the Run-Down and did Get Shorty after. His range in Get Shorty let him break out of the "action hero" typecast and let him venture into Disney movies(which,while campy,were still hits)
-John Cena was a monumental failure as an action hero, his movies sucked,every single one of them. So he wasn't "intelligent" he was a stupendous failure as an action hero. Sure the days of action hero films are gone,but the Rock actually kept his career alive by expanding his range. Cena didn't "choose" not to be a movie star, he knows he can't cut it as one. The WWE knew as well,so they tried with Dibiase,HHH and others. There's no argument that he focused on his WWE career,and is dedicated to his job. However,it still stands, if he had the same opportunity and ability as the Rock,I bet he'd taken it.

Again I think you are misinterpreting my words, first off, I no way i suggested he "turned his back" on the WWE or wrestling, Actually I really don't think that at all, even when The Rock wanted to be known as Dwayne Johnson, People on interviews still called him The Rock or asked him if they could call him The Rock and most of the time, he accepted that, and this is not from Rumors, I saw those interviews.

The ET interviews I talked about were even before he got the Scorpion King role, He as the No. 1 or 2 in WWE at the time and have just filmed the Mummy returns, and lets be honest, none on ET makes a feature on a wrestler, they were doing one on the movie and Then is when he really started to claim about using Wrestling, getting all he could there and taking the next step to Hollywood, which is to be an Actor.

Also, on he meant to be a wrestler, well, that was only after he was passed over by NFL and cut from Canadian Football, So The thing about him having wrestling on his blood and always meant to be a wrestler....not that much really, he was not able to get in the NFL and fortunately for him his family had the right connections for him to become a wrestler in WWE, not saying that with out them he wouldn't but it sure helped a lot.

And something a lot of people fail to see, He never wanted to leave in reality, he wanted the part time thing but that fell through when they allowed his contract to run out, which like I said, it was a huge mistake because Vince didn't wanted it to happen either, after that there was always talks of him coming back at some point but he never actually turned his back on the business, in that regard people goes shit crazy and call him what ever they want but hey, when he left Wrestling was in a good position, it was not like he needed to be there all the time, the guy has a life and seriously has every right to go and do whatever projects he wants.

Now on Austin, yes he was a guess start on a show, then he was cast as a regular, and it was in hopes to be a movie star, but when the roles were not as many as the ones the Rock was offered and Vince really needed him he dropped all pursues to a movie career.

And john didn't fail on his Action Hero pursues, the problem with those are a lot:

1. He pretty much did the same movie again, but instead of being a marine he was a cop, the story was the same in a lot of ways, Hero's wife gets kidnapped and he tries to rescue her.

2. They always wants him to be the lead, which in the end is not the best for anyone, The Rock stated to take secondary Roles which made him way more approachable as an actor, in the case of John, pretty much is 1st or 2nd credit in all movies and since he is WWE exclusive it is all WWE films action, which by the simple brand receives the "Ah, it's another crappy movie form WWE" even it the movie is good...then again I think there wasn't one good but you get my point....The Marine 2 was cool.

3. Cena is not that bad of an actor but what lacks for him is expand his horizons, Sorry but The Rock is not that much of a better actor than Cena is and the timing for Cena is different.

Also, the intelligent part goes into this, which doesn't mean he is more intelligent that the Rock, He is a good attraction in Wrestling, he did have a few Highs as an actor, which he does just to take a little WWE break here and there but he sticks to what he knows and that is being a WWE Superstar, great wrestler or not, good actor or not, He is there, maybe not because he is loyal, but because it is what fits him the most.

But just to clarify a point, The Rock never in reality turned his back on wrestling because he is not owned by it, as simple as that, he didn't leave when it needed him the most, he left when apparently Wrestling didn't need him anymore and he moved on, WWE moved on and that was it.

This Monday Cena finally fired back at Dwayne and next Raw you'll see The Rock return, use his few catchphrases and leave and it's ok because like many of you guys a little Rocky goes a long way.

Come on, "he left us"? You can't be serious about that, he left because at the time he did he seemed expendable even for the WWE, so bad that none cared to check when his deal was up even when everyone apologized later. He just moved on.

You talk like if he betrayed you some how, if the people at WWE feel the same, well that is also wrong because the WWE was the one that let he Rock leave, not the other way around.
