Name Of Show Being Graded: Monday Night Raw
Storyline Development: In terms of which story came on leaps and bounds this weak, I would have to go with the Team Teddy vs Team Eve advancements we saw on Raw. I always worry with these types of matches that they're going to be throw away scenarios and boring, but both teams seem solid, so fingers crossed this lives up to the strides it took this week.
Character Development: I enjoyed the statements that the United Kingdom made at the top of Raw, coming out and making sure that the attention was on them. I see these guys as the premier stable of Raw and each promo went some way to make sure that they establish themselves as a decent force as well as a believable nemesis for the rest of the roster.
Best Feud: As much as I feel that the Flock/Kaitlyn/Sting is a very good feud right now, I won't be selecting that as my pick. Rather i'll show some love to the Divas who often get left out of my feedback, mostly because I find it difficult to engage them as a serious entity. But this week I thought Beth and Chyna did a very good job at what they were trying to do.
Worst Feud: This is not really a reflection on how well the two parties are doing in the feud, more of a statement of "Haven't we seen this a million times already?". The feud i'm talking about is America vs The Middle East, IE Hulk Hogan vs Hassan. It's almost cliche nowadays, i'm not looking forward to it simply because of how limited the options on how to progress this are.
Best Promo: The John Cena and Ryback promo was very good, I thought it could have been used in greater context though, the fact that it was used outside of a feud almost seems like a waste to me. Either way I would hope these two guys might face off after War Games.
Worst Promo: This annoys me.. like REALLY annoys me because I can't think of anything that stands out as a poor promo, and I like to pick on people to make myself feel better! So screw you guys, i'm going home.
Parts That Excelled: The match writing was good, two matches that stand out for me were Barrett vs Black and AAP vs UK. Promo-wise and I thought everyone involved in the opening promo did well, EHC, K2Jelly and Dave contributed well to our joint promo and every other promo was at least above average in quality.
Parts Needing Improvement: Considering the size of the roster, I think you might be able to squeeze in a couple more matches per show.
Overall Experience: I'm going to give this show a better garde than usual, i'll give you a B+. Which is just about as good as you can hope to get for a weekly show.
My review for Nitro will follow.
