the defending system isn't too bad if you got it.
but playing against CPU is hard with the defending system. I heard they work on that in FIFA 13.

It's better than the previous fifa games where defending was just to easy..

On Settings, you can change it back to the normal defending. I use the new one though cause it's quite challenging

I bought the game on release day, it took me untill about a month ago to realise you could change it back!!

My last career mode I was Chelsea, I sold all the ageing players and had a young team, was good.

I bought Van Persie, Henry, Beckham, Keita, Gallas and Bojan. And I have still lots of good youth players
