The graphics and game mechanics of Mass Effect 1 are pretty dated at this point, although the open universe mechanic is the strongest in this installment. The 2
nd and 3
rd installment hold up pretty well by today’s 3
rd person shooter standards. The interesting characters and thought provoking science fiction story based in a rich universe is real cats meow of the whole experience. I spent about 2 years playing Mass Effect exclusively. And like some kind of damn crack fiend I find myself looking for that first time mass effect high again. I wish I could play through the trilogy for the first time again. Alas, I have finally moved on (Skyrim). If you stick with it until the end I would challenge you to accept the original endings which is perfectly fine. I cannot speak of these enhanced endings that legions of fans bitched and moaned to get.
