Its easy to say things like "Bring Back the Attitude Era" but its really not that simple, firstly, the Attitude Era for all its good had a helluva lot of crap attached to it as well, on the plus side though the good things have stood the test of time, so for that alone it would be good, however we don't even know if the WWE have the charismatic talent to go back to that kind of program, plus, TNA have went completely in that way and lost viewers, the Attitude Era was a time when Pro Wrestling tapped into the market of the casual and enticed people who didn't normally watch Pro Wrestling, that same market isn't out there anymore, if it was then TNA would have gained viewers over the course of the last eight months.
I'd agree that the WWE as a whole needs re-structuring, however going back 12 years isn't the way to move forward, I've heard of taking a step back to take 2 steps forward but that would be ridiculous, the WWE can still get it right with good basic storylines, look at the Randy Orton/McMahon's & Triple H feud leading into WrestleMania, it was compelling viewing, the same with Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels/JBL, Shawn Michaels/Undertaker and the whole Batista link with McMahon and the feud with John Cena
The biggest problem with the WWE isn't the PG rating, the Creative, the Bookers or the talent (with generic characters) its plain and simple, the problem with the WWE is Vince McMahon, he has become a complete parody of himself, he was the guy who revolutionised Professional Wrestling in the 80s and who had the balls to put his faith in a lot of young talent in the 90s, yet in the 2000s he has become the man who has sold his soul to be apart of the Hierarchy in America, he is more interested in Celebrity Status than running a Wrestling Promotion, Vince McMahon is more interested in being seen as an Entertainment Producer than a Wrestling Promoter and that unfortunately is the problem with the WWE
