The Rating Drop!

I'd like to know what people backstage are thinking about the shows. Especially that live smackdown on tuesday. When you watch a 2 hour show and have 14 mins of wrestling its embarrassing to watch so what must the people who are part of it be thinking?
I can't imagine anyone ever telling Lauranitis you did an amazing job tonight and mean it. But we'll put him on tv every week.

You'd get 14 mins of wrestling in the first 30 mins of a show back in the day. The pace of each show is ridiculous and getting worse. So no surprise to me that ratings are dropping. You can tell by watching one show that it can be intolerable at some points. The ratings are going the deserved direction. I even think we've all been way too loyal to put up with what they come up with and keep tuning in just to see if it gets better

This is a topic I really like to talk about. The WWE every year have been losing views, many people say just because their isn't a wrestling company doesn't mean they have no competition, people say their are other TV shows out their that WWE are competing with not necessarily a wrestling show. Anyway every year WWE are losing views around this time last year they was at 5million now their wondering around in 4million. If they keep on declining views every year what will happen to the WWE? What happens when they get to around 2million, that's Smackdown level and its declining too.

What do you guys have to say?

I believe it has to do with streaming i cant afford a digital package like Sky right now so i watch the shows online.

They will eventually plateau. Enough people care about the product to keep it around a certain "minimum" level - Eventually it'll gain but these ratings are pretty much what you're going to get for a long time in this day and age. Something Radical would help draw in casual fans but it's like any TV Show - people eventually get bored until they hit a certain number of "hardcore fans" (most TV shows get cancelled when this happens) and the rating just stays at a lowish point.

Well Otunga has improved a lot since his NXT days where he couldn't perform his finisher properly so I don't see why he shouldn't get a main event match with John Cena to elevate his character. Plus, hes one of the few who that actually has a gimmick instead of the cookie cutter personalities we normally see.

i sky plus it every week and fast forward thru the boring parts more wrestling would help but more quality wrestling is the key better storylines etc etc i dont think the ratings are that big of a thing because of things like the internet and recording ppl watch things when and when or how they can

Wrestling just isn't cool anymore. Especially since the UFC is around now (even though its boring as hell). And plus, people have a lot more options now that just about everyone has over 200 channels and internet access. Maybe one day wrestling will be cool again, but I just don't see it happening.
