I have to disagree that the bolded names are bigger draws than Lesnar atm. If this were true then Lesnar vs Cena would have been lower on the card.

I fail to see how making your main draw looking weaker in any way is good for business.

If Cena was staying, the point would be much less flawed.

Dude without knowing how the storyline pans out dont be so quick too judge, Please remember right now The Main Draw is going to be CM punk all the while Cena is not on TV as he is the guy holding the WWE championship and its about time that the spotlight centered on that title again!

on the subject remember Brock Lesnar is a Part time Special Attraction wrestler who is contracted to 30-40 apperances in the next year now minus 6 appearances from that and thats all we got of Brock until mania 29 ....and I dont think building a buisness round him is in way good.

Extrem Rules well That was always going to be a double edged sword to book the outcome to Cena/Lesnar in the endI think it was a good choice considering thy just Jobbed cena out to the rock last month. If he is going away at least he can make a comeback in a few months looking strong, brock has had a defeat so what?Brock is a legit former UFC Champion he still will look dominant and can make himself look ultrabad again

    afterall he is a heel...

I wouldnt worry too much about the buisness end Im sure its covered

Lesnar was higher up on the card because of Cena. I think Punk is going to be the bigger draw if Cena is absent.

    Perfect analogy.

And yeah, Cena winning didn't bother me in the least.

Are we really talking about Brock's drawing power before any hard numbers about the PPV comes in? We've had a couple RAWs, one of which started an hour early which is just horrible scheduling on their end. Wrestlemania 28 was the highest selling wrestling PPV ever with the Rock and Cena headlining, that's a number you can pin on both Cena and Rock. That was with a year of build. Brock's had what... a month, if that? Let the upcoming PPV buys determine a guy's drawing power.

I don't disagree, he does need time off.

What I'm saying is, trying to make Cena look bigger isn't necessary, but making Brock come across as something is important. WWE is likely cashing in on a few MMA fans making the jump to see Lesnar (like they may not have before) and seeing him lose to someone who is leaving for time off doesn't make sense in my mind.

Furthermore, to make Lesnar more credible, it makes sense to have him win - the kids now didn't get to see him before, but they know what Cena is all about.

I still don't think it makes any sense.

    I completely disagree.

How many fans of other sports do you think checked out WWE (who may not watch it normally) for Sheamus etc? Not many. Lots of MMA fans will have taken an interest (I have seen this first hand) because of Lesnar.

On top of that, WWE Fans equally watched it for Lesnar as much as anyone else, so if anything, those extra potential buy rates are likely to be coming from him - not saying they do, I'm just saying there's a high probability that if there is a higher buy rate than normal, then it's likely coming from him.

You do realize how different MMA is from WWE and most MMA fans hate don't like professional wrestling. They think that because its scripted that it is boring and stupid. I doubt a lot of UFC fans are going to say oh boy Brock Lesnar is back with the WWE let me watch the WWE now because if that was the case we would've seen a bigger increase in the Raw ratings after Lesnar had already come back.

I'd like to note I have one or two friends who have contacts in MMA and Wrestling alike, and a LARGE number of his friends (who don't watch Wrestling) were watching for Brock Lesnar. True story.

I can only comment on what I have seen, but I've seen first hand the impact that Lesnar's presence in WWE has had in the MMA world.

He lost at Wrestlemania, only fair if he wins at the next PPV. And I bet you that Brock doesn't mind that loss. He get to beat the shit out of Cena. That right there is a win.
