But Petey why not have Cena lose and then have Cena beat Lesnar at another time? Well you see because it ruins the credibility of Cena's character saying some guy just came back after eight years and destroyed him. Also it sends a bad message that everyone in the past generation is greater then the guys in the locker room now because you would've just had the face of this generation lose twice to guys who left WWE for greener pastures. However all of you are right the WWE should've killed the face of their company for a guy who won't be here after Wrestlemania 29.
You obviously have no fucking clue what the fuck you are talking about. This was such an easy angle to book, yet they fuck it up in 1 month. You build a monster heel big time up for WrestleMania and at WrestleMania you beat him as the pay off.
What is horrible business sense, is paying a guy 5 million dollar for the year and beat him at his first PPV, completely relegating him to just another guy on the roster. If you build the guy up and put him over, you might make millions of dollars from added PPV buys, but Vince obviously doesn't care anymore about making money.
Your claim about Cena losing credibility is also ridiculous. If he lost he would've lost from an former UFC world heavyweight champion, an outsider, not a regular roster guy. He could've easily gotten his win back if he was stretchered out or something, since he going away anyway. He could make a triumphant return and challenge Brock.
Maybe it sends a bad message, losing to The Rock and Brock Lesnar, but you know what? WHY NOT LET AN OTHER GUY BEAT THEM AND CREATE ANOTHER STAR?
Your last argument is non-valid since Cena lost to The Rock, who by the way, probably also is gone after WrestleMania 29.

Their drawing power is non-existent. Brock Lesnar has main evented pay-per-views that had 1 million North-American buys. When was the last time WWE had more than 1 million North American PPV buys?
They all draw worse than the guy who painted this Otunga picture.
