Not so much an unpopular opinion than a misinformed and ignorant one, towards both anime and "cartoons". I assume you must be a "hater" of animation*, and hating an entire
medium is, quite frankly, absurd.
HOWEVER, I generally hate the breed of hardcore anime fans that not only automatically think than anime is far superior to Western animation, but automatically think that anything Japanese is far superior to anything Western. You know, the type of people who probably cry themselves to sleep every night because they weren't born in Osaka, or eat ramen and pocky every single night because Naruto does. I like Japan and their culture as much as the next guy, but that level of fanboyism/Japanophilia grossly misunderstands Japanese culture and ignores a whole wealth of other great animations in the West. (Not just America and Disney, but from the likes of Britain and Russia too)
