probably gonna get some heat for this but

1. KISS - Average band, treated like rock gods. Don't get me wrong, I love a good stage show as much as the next guy, but every now and again concentrating on the music may be a good idea

2. Nirvana - There is a reason that beginner guitar players learn Colbain's songs, and that is because anybody can play them, without Kurt's death they wouldn't have gotten half as famous as they did afterwards.
