The State Of ROH

Sorry for hijacking your thread Robareid, so let's carry the discussion over here. I'll start with what I posted in Robs thread.

I think we're at a low point in ROH history.


The promotion has regressed since the SBG take over. Their television is worse, their DVDs are worse, the story lines aren't as compelling, the roster isn't as deep or as talented. The only thing that I can think of that has improved is the website, and even that couldn't handle the log on volume during Border Wars.

One thing missing is Gabe's eye for talent. ROH presumably has more money in the coffers to have the pick of the indy litter, yet they're not finding the future stars like Gabe has and continues to do.

Plus, it feels like they've committed to the crew they have. It's nice for those guys, but the company would probably be better off committing to 10-12 guys and keeping slots open for fresh faces.

I just don't sense that they're actively searching for young talent like they have in the past. I know they have tryout camps and a school, yet it doesn't seem like they are quick to bring in guys who stand out elsewhere like they once were.

I think ROH needs to scout better talent , If you look at PWG i believe that to be the best promotion in the US , and take guys such as Willie Mack, Super dragon , Callahan and build them up as top guys in ROH.

Tag team such as The Super smash bros , rockness monsters would help revive the tag division

And the lower and mid card they could sign guys such as Scorpio sky , joey Ryan , ricochet to give it more depth.

I believe cornette is the Russo of ROH , give the booking back to Delirious and get Adam Pearce back.

ROH needs to just look around a little bit. I love seeing new talent come in and used. And ROH used to do that regularly. I don't like the direction their heading in but I hope it turns around.
