Wasn't there a time when the x-devision title used to be the flagship belt in TNA?

I could be mistaken since I've never been a huge follower of TNA, but my brothers whom are were always saying things back in the day (2004/2005) that the x-division belt was the main belt and the one TNA programming was centered around. Now it seems more that the TNA belt is the flagship belt. Like I said, I could be wrong. That's why I posted this to find out.

I'd say around 04-06 was the main time, the peak of the x-division was probably the AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe vs Christopher Daniels fued. They had the best match in TNA history when they headlined Unbreakable 05 for the title. But people like Petey Williams, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Low Ki (Senshi) made for a much more diverse and entertaining division. I think the fans saw the title as the flagship belt but the company didn't and if they did it was for a very short period.

This. They has no viable "heavyweights" at the time. R-Truth held their HW belt for a little while. That tells you right there.

While around that time it was the peak of X-division, The NWA world title was more important with Jeff Jarett, Rhyno, Raven, Sting, Styles feuding for it.

Good to see you're become a productive member of eWN Ms. Bat . To answer your question, yes. The main thing that got TNA attention around '04-'06/'07 was the X-Division and the 6 Sided ring. Where WWE was focusing more on Cena/Triple H/Edge the Heavyweights, TNA had a roster full of highflyers and it got them instant recognition.

Nowadays, as stated, the TNA World Title is now the hood ornament of the company but the X-Div is starting to make a comeback again. I'd love nothing more than to see it become front and center again.

Ha ha, Poot-Hair you're disclaimer is f*#kin funny as hell! On subject, yes the X-Division title used to be the focal point of the company. The first TNA match I ever saw was A.J Styles vs Christopher Daniels build up to BFG '05.

It should be the flagship title. With the right things done, they could really make a comeback as a company.

Exactly they lacked the big ole boys. So they put on the best show they could with smaller guys which were excellent.
