The past few weeks when I came across this forum in almost every thread I read, I saw people moan about how the WWE lack gimmicks for their wrestlers. Come to think of it, I thought so too. Then I started out some googling and you might turn out to be suprised, all you moaners and complainers

After about 2-3 hours I found out that are actually more gimmicks then we all realise.
Take a look at all of these:

Aksana - Eastern-European Whore
Alberto Del Rio - A destiny moaning rich aristocrat
Bella Twins - were a tormented duo of a good twin and an evil Twin
Beth Phoenix - Over Achiever in the Diva Division
Big Show - Giant
Brodus Clay - Funk Loving Dino

CM Punk - Anti-Hero, rebel
Cody Rhodes - Cocky young guy, with a family name to back up all his claims

See, the problem with your list is this; you're not really listing gimmicks for most of these superstars/divas. You're listing qualities, nicknames and catchphrases to them. That's not really a gimmick.

I removed anyone who's gimmick is "being themself or an exagerated version there of" (and deleted the offensive parts). We're left with 18 from and original list of 44. So less than half the roster, which wasn't even a complete list, have a discernible gimmick. That's plenty of reason to moan if you ask me.

There are a wide variety of gimmicks in WWE today. But I think most of us would agree that they aren't as creative or successful as some of the gimmicks of the past. Like take The Rock or Stone Cold for example - their gimmicks were simple, but they managed to turn them into legends by their great promos. Nowadays, even great gimmicks suffer, because they're restricted by PG, or other reasons.

Totally agree here. In pro wrestling I always said gimicks need a K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid!!! W/ all the drama they convey on the mic vs. in the ring it is no wonder guys like evan bourne, tyson kidd, kane, the entire tag division, jack swagger, ziggler, ryback, yoshitatsu, khali as well as other's suffer w/ no real camera time, because guys like cena, show, ryder, and other dumb gimmics like aj just take up more camera time on backstage and mic crap for these guys then spreading the wealth to every one like back during the attitude era and even the late 80's ww"f" e
