haha your welcome, I hope this new angle gives punk the ability to drop more pipe bombs and gets him some real heat. the wwe has few quality heels right now and only one actual hated heel on the main event level (alberto del rio) cm punk could fix that if heyman can still work the mic like he has been doing since the original ecw

Intelligence in arguing it? I fail to see where my "OPINION" is unintelligent? But forget all that. Let's go back a little bit to what else you said to me. I believe you said the quality of wrestling today is better than "5000 years ago". Take your intelligence, and go back and see where I said "5000 years ago". But, ok. It's fine. You also said you watched wrestling as long as me, probably even longer. Now, when I said I watched wrestling in the good days, I meant I watched it. I lived it. I was at every live show that came to the Philadelphia area. I didn't youtube it and wikipedia the names, like many people who try to make comparisons. (before you get your panties in a ruffle, I'm not accusing you of doing that). However, if you watched wrestling as long as I have, or probably longer, as you like to claim, you never would have made that statement comparing Punk to Bret Hart, because anyone with any sense at all, knows the comparison is not even close. As for mic skills, sorry, but go ahead and youtube some Stone Cold promos, and show me where Punk can get a crowd going the way Stone Cold could...(and not a crowd in Chicago either).

It's all opinion dude. All opinion. The only fact is, CM Punk, with his Stone Cold caliber promos and his Bret Hart caliber ring work, is not the leader of this company, and never will be. Bret Hart and Stone Cold were the leaders of this company, and in better eras.

pardon my ignorance I started watching wrestling in 1998ish (i'm 20) but didn't wrestling have a slump when bret was the face of the company?

I guess I YouTube my matches. Cause, I mean, I was only like 10 when I went to my first show in 1992. I grew up watching Bret Hart. I was in KC when Owen Hart died. I personally seen the "Austin 3:16 Says, I just whooped your ass." that put SCSA on the map. I was even at Wrestlmania X8 and had seen The Rock vs "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan. However, I'm just a casual fan who knows nothing about what I'm comparing my stuff.

And yes, Hart while a very good wrestler, didn't have the mic skills to get the casual fan to invest into him as much as the more brilliant talkers. You had to have a mix of good wrestling ability and be good on the mic. Bret was an Excellent wrestler, and although I don't like him, SCSA excelled on the mic. These two are the best combination of people I have seen over the years, and if you believe what's his bucket only on YouTube, that best compare to CM Punk to me. (Although, I've watched them in arenas, and on TV.)

DK Wrestling Savior: You insulted my intelligence by calling me stupid. I have every right to fire back. Now we can end this all, and be more civilized from here on out, or we can just keep back and forthing until a mod gets so frustrated that both of us end up getting warnings or even banned. you're right, I didn't actually notice that. I know everyone has different opinions but from what I've read I agree with you, to call someone stupid for their opinion is wrong. Wrestling today is different from what it was in the attitude era, whether people like that or not is their problem. I'd love to have the attitude era back but I realise that with that I'd lose some of the good things about today's wrestling. I do like that they have started to do some more backstage segments on Raw now which reminds me of the attitude era. I'd love to have just one show where the backstage segments were the APA antics.

When did I call you stupid? I only called the Ronald McDonald face stupid. That wasn't a shot at you, but the picture.

And yes, it seems your wrestling history goes back as far as me...for the most part. I watched Hogan slam Bundy in the Steel Cage...well, on Closed Circuit TV anyway. I also witnessed Mick Foley almost beat up my brother and his friend at the ECW arena. Fun Stuff. I was there for Stone Cold's first WWF Title win over Rock, I was there for the very beginning of the creation of DX, I've been around the block as well. So, since we're both sensible, and both know our stuff, yes, I agree that we can discuss this, without bickering like high school girls over who is better.

I just have a very difficult time embracing today's WWE. It's for some people, but not everybody. That's why I moved on. I'm becoming a big TNA fan now. And I'm youtubing and wikipedia'ing all the past TNA stuff. LOL.

@Dennis...I don't know...Define Slump...and by who's standards, was it in a "slump"? In my eyes, no one was or will ever be as big as 80's Hogan, so of course, there was a drop off when Bret took over, but slump? I don't know about that. Remember, there was one real show, and there was only like 4 or 5 PPV's a year back then, but every house show I attended was sold out, so I'm not sure that slump is actually the right term. I would probably say, it slipped. Much like today, wrestling has slipped from what it was even 8 years ago, long after the Attitude Era and Monday Wars ended.

I've been watching TNA since it started airing on Fox back when I lived in Bartlesville almost 8yrs ago.
