Jeff Hardy as TNA Champion,WWE Fans viewpoint?

Last year at BFG, Jeff appeared asking for forgiveness from the fans. He worked his ass off the entire year and its silly to think that putting the belt on him to stay with the company will assure him from leaving. If anything, it's a great business move on TNA's part to sell more even more merchandise. Jeff's story over the past year, is a great story. I would have put the belt on him before BFG, and had Aries win it there instead. At the end of the day, TNA is the perfect place for Jeff. He's a drug addict who does not need to be involve with such a ridiculous schedule, he's a father, and most of all, he is allowed to be himself and use all his "artistic" forms. If Jeff were to head to WWE, he will eventually fall back on bad habits. I'm happy for him; specially after how hated he was after his mistakes last year.

I love Jeff Hardy, always have and always will.. hope to one day see him back in the WWE providing he's clean and all his antic's are behind him, as a WWE and Hardy fan.. I'm happy he's the TNA champion, however.. if I was TNA fan, would I like to see him with the main title? No.. I think Aries should have retained because he has been awesome and simply because Hardy for me, still has to prove like I previously said.. that all his antics and demons are behind him.

Is he worth 6 title reigns? I'm not sure, I would say he earned his WWE ones.. as for TNA, I can't help but feel he's become champion to make sure he stays with the company.

As a fan of TNA, I don't like it because he hasn't completed his "road to redemption" for me. It was a really big fall when it happened (my opinion). I do feel that he is on the right track, since TNA has pretty much kept him away from the WHC since and left him in mid-card battles, but I still think that the he shouldn't have gotten this title for a few reasons.

(1) If they would have delayed his title win to Genesis, it would have given Aries a decent run for the TNA fans as well as make a point that until we know we will have you for another 3 years, we're not going to build put the companies top title in your hands if we don't know where you'll be. We learned this with Kenny King / All Night Xpress and unless TNA has secured the ink on the paper and the news hasn't been released yet, they should have known better.

(2) This could have been the next year long story. If they wouldn't have let Hardy have the belt, they could have focused more on Hardys full "road to redemption" by having him win it at next years Slammiversary or even BFG by becoming a two time winner of the BFG series. It would have been an emotional sale in that it meant so much to prove to his fans that he is back to where he was before he fell from grace. Having just pushed this "road to redemption" aspect since the OFN Impact, it really had no time to become cemented or register the emotional value that it could have had with not only Hardy fans, but fans of TNA who have been watching him since the mid 2000s struggle and bounce back and forth. It would have sold me, and the general wrestling fan who knows of his problems, that he is truly back to what he once was.

(3) Aries only solid notch in his reign was beating Roode once clean to win the belt. If he was good enough for to take the belt off Roode (who no one could beat for the belt), then how is he going to lose it to Hardy on his "first defense"? (I don't count Roodes rematch, because that was entitled to him... And I don't count the "Armbreaker" match because that was just... Well, you know) You basically just made the one guy who FINALLY beat your dominant champion a "transitional" champ; I don't agree with that.

It's just my opinion, but that's what I think.

Just curious what WWE fans think of Jeff Hardy as a World Champion,being the current TNA one.Worth keeping in mind that of his 6 title reigns,3 came in WWE,3 in TNA,so its not a case of WWE mid-carder main eventing elsewhere.I cant imagine it as being as bad asking ROH fans to comment on Khali as World Champion,just curious your thoughts on the guy and is he really worth 6 World title reigns?Is he worth the title given his history with "selected vitamins"

His drug use should have no bearing on his title wins. As recently evidenced, a lot of wrestlers have had/still have substance abuse problems. This is usually the case when you are travelling 320+ days a year, go long periods without family (i'd expect it's lonely, even with the company of other superstars), living a far from normal life, the aches and pains of performing, hardly any real rest periods etc

Anyway, i personally think he deserved his title wins in WWE as he did help CM Punk, particularly in regards to his elevation to the main event, and he was extremely over and a big merch seller, liked by most fans. (Kids loved his face paint and colourful persona whilst attitude era fans remembered his epic matches back then; who wasn't a hardy fan right?) In TNA he is possibly one of the biggest mainstream names there (of the current generation) and THE biggest merchandise seller. There aren't many names that are as big as him and not over 40 years old; Hogan should never be in the ring now; Sting and Angle are getting on and are beat up (both would rather help elevate other talents these days); Bully Ray is another who is big, but nowhere near hardy's level as he is remembered as a tag team specialist, but not a multiple time world champion. Personally, I'd agree with his title reigns. He was red hot during his three reigns in WWE, helped give CM Punk that main event rub and remember, they were interested in resigning him before that "haul" the feds found in his home. In TNA, he is the most over and the biggest merchandise seller. Why NOT give him the title? He should really be on his fifth reign though, as he was in terrible shape which culminated in the victory road debacle. However, i still don't think Aries should have lost. He wasn't anywhere near that point where fans WANTED him to lose - establish him as a fully fledged heel, THEN make him lose it.

Jeff Hardy won for the same reason John Cena is always in the title picture. The company is gonna want their top merch seller wearing or competing for the strap. That being said I dont like Hardy with the belt (as a WWE fan) because I dont believe Hardy earned it yet after his "match" against Sting last year.

I've already been outspoken about this. This is just my opinion and regardless I will still tune in to TNA. My personal likes or dislikes does not speak for all or effect actual ratings or merchandise sales. Before I get jumped on, this is just my opinion, but it's a strong one.

I F*CKING hate that Jeff Hardy is Champ. It makes the entire TNA roster look weak in my eyes. It makes them look as if they can not create their own stars and get them over in the main stream, so they have to use WWE ex talent to put themselves on the map. It's pathetic. They had a good thing going with AA and Roode and Pushing Storm and Zima and Daniels and Kaz and Tesmacher (or however you spell it), but they put the belts on Hardy, Tara, Chavo, RVD, makes me literally fucking ill. Wasn't it just last year when Hardy had the belt he ripped off the fans by being shitfaced during his ppv main event title match? Terrible decision.

I watch TNA, because it's an alternative to WWE, not because it's the elephant graveyard of ex WWE stars.

TNA is never going to legitimately compete against the WWE in anyway until they create thier own stars and put them over in the main stream. I root for TNA and I'm not a TNA hater. I want TNA to succeed and threaten the WWE so we can see better wrestling programs ala the Monday Night Wars.

I too love Jeff Hardy. I too hope he comes back to WWE someday.

There's 2 sides to it IMO.
Firstly, Aries has been awesome for TNA as Champion. Both X division and World Champion. He's one of if not the MVP for TNA, and he's one of the best all round packages in the business. Does he still need the title to be relevant? I don't think so, but as a heel champ, he's a great option for TNA to have as their title bearer. With that said, I'm not sure if it was time for him to drop the title, since the title run wasn't exactly getting stale (as far as I know).

Secondly though, Jeff Hardy does deserve this title win. He's overcome some big personal issues to be back to close to his best. After having him 'overcoming the odds' to win the BFG series, only to lose the title match perhaps wasn't the right thing to do. It was fitting if you like for him to win the title.

However, I agree with THBK in saying that perhaps Hardy was given the World title since his contract is running out soon. TNA don't want to lose their biggest face and merch seller, so with that in mind, and with the rumors that Hardy could consider a WWE return when his contract is up, then perhaps he was given this title run as a convincer.

I mean in all honesty, there's pros and cons. I'm very happy that Hardy is back to his best and back entertaining and doing well in life again. On the other hand, there's a question whether or not they took the title off Aries too soon.

We you're a how do I put this less smart to the business fan I think Jeff Hardy is a brilliant guy to be a fan of. I used to a huge fan of his.

Now that I know much more and now a lot of different wrestling styles and stuff Hardy does not interest me at all. His promo's seem to go very slowly and I don't think he want's to be doing them. In ring he isn't really that much of a high flyer and he aint great at much else so he is quite boring cus he tends just to get beat on a lot.

I understand why he is champion and I accept it but I think I will be enjoying everything else in TNA more than the world title scene while he is the champion

You have no clue what your even typing. Jeff was a junkie when WWE cut him lose, Kurt didn't want to resign same with RVD.

Well that was the first time, this last time it was Hardy who left his contract run out, which in the end worked better for WWE. While Hardy became the hottest comodity in Wrestling during the time, he was about to get arrested and I really think that WWE officials were relieved about him not signing again.


I really don't think that either of those three want to be on WWE anymore becuase of the schedule, the difference with Jericho is that when Jericho is there, he is 100% there, TV tapings, House shows, PPV, etc.

I don't think neither of those guys could really handle the shcedule anymore, maybe RVD but Kurt will get obsessed with it being the workaholic that he is and will end up in a hospital and Jeff, well he just doesn't want that anymore.

Now going back on topic, From a business perspective they made a good decision, not the best but a good one, Hardy is the most over TNA wrestler, even with all his personals ups and downs, he has worked his ass off to be reliable again and had apparently changed for the better so put the title on him was pretty much a no brainer for a lot of people, does he deserves it? Yes he does, was it the best decision to make? Not in my view but completely understandable.

Why not? Well, I think like many have said, they are only giving him the belt to keep him happy, which I think is not really the solution, I don't even think they understand why he might not be happy at some point and they might have miss a big opportunity to stablish Aries a little bit more, not that he wasn't doing a good job, but a victory over Hardy would have made wonders for Aries and Jeff is at he point of his career where he is pretty mucho like teflon, he can lost all year and one victory and he is a believable contender.

Is he a good champion for TNA? I think he is now, he seems grounded enough, over enough and willing enough to have a good run with the belt and he is a draw for TNA so it is good.

Jeff Hardy is a legend in my view, maybe I'm overrating him but there never will be another like him. He had such a distinctive look and style plus he backed up that with his crazy moves and jumps. Anyways, I don't want to see him in WWE again, there really isn't any point.

But saying that, it's kind of shit that TNA have given their titles to ex-WWE guys. I don't see how the usual TNA fan boys can say shit like 'TNA ain't like WWE, they're for real wrestling fans' anymore. TNA would chop their left leg of to become like WWE, and they proved that with the recent PPV with Hardy (their top Merch seller) winning, Tara's "Hollywood" boyfriend etc... I also find it hard to watch Austin Aries now 'cause he is SOO similar to CM Punk right now, with the copying of WWE half the time, it's pretty embarrassing the way they're are pushing him right now.

Yes that is the other side of the coin, I think TNA is affraid of big names either leaving or not being happy that they take their own stars for granted.

Case and point AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, maybe not the most charismatic guys on Earth and each one with his limitations but every time someone new gets in they become a cannon foder for them like when AJ lost the title to RVD or Joe lost his first match to Kurt and then almost every feud against him.

Or even a worse case, Velvet Sky, you can say whatever you want about the girl, but TNA built he rup really nice to become the next "Face" of the KO Division and as soon as Gail Kim arrived, she was the new Flavor of the month, and now Sky is no even on the roster anymore. Not a shot at Kim, who is a great wrestler but it is a waste to invest so much time building someone to deck her in less than 3 months.

So you are pretty much spot on, there are times in which TNA goes for the "shinny" things instead of carying about what they have built on their own.
