What's your favorite Scary movie?

I love scary movies rather it be gory like saw, or a good possession movie like The Exorcist but my favorite scary movie of all time is Scream. I love all the actors, the death scenes, and the twist at the end..

So whats your guys favorite scary movie and why?

For me it is a tie between Scream & A Nightmare on Elm Street.

As a little kid I loved bloody slasher movies and Freddy was the coolest movie character I had seen at my young age.

When the first Scream came out my best friend and I went and saw it atleast 15 times in that month.

Personally, I'll go suspense over gore/slasher.

I was always a fan of the Friday the 13th (on the slasher end of things) for a "scary" movie to watch.

The problem I have is that most "scary" movies I don't find scary. I usually end up making fun of them rather than having my blood getting rushed.

The last scary movie that I enjoyed though was The Strangers. It was a good story that I could see as a true story with how crazy the world has become. I also like The 4th Kind even though they tried to make it too "this is real! Believe it!" for my taste.

I didn't find Scream scary one bit, like DRG I'll go suspense a million times over gore, slasher etc...

The Shining and exorcism of Emily Rose for me.

Edit: and for slasher films, the first Halloween is just the king of that genre.

Cabin in the woods is the best horror film IMO. great directing, great spin on a common premise, and it's funny... what else can you ask for.

Honestly, I loved Cabin in the wood as much as you did but you didn't actually find it scary did you?

I dont actually think any movie has ever actually scared me, because I always know in my head it just a fucking movie. I watch more for gore in some movies. If a movie can make me cringe and want to turn away at parts then I like it.

I don't get scared by movies. it did startle me which is as much as a "scary movie" will do to me. I was sitting next to a girl in the movie theater while watching it and she screamed a lot so it can scare people.
