If the WWE falls

If the WWE falls and collapses is this the end of professional wrestling on national TV? Now I'm not saying that the WWE will fall, but the ratings are dropping, new stars who transcend the ring are becoming rarer and rarer now in the WWE, and the live audience is even starting to tune out looking back at the Hell in a Cell crowd and the Raw crowd from last night. Gonna have to wait for next week's Raw to see if that trend changes, don't trust pretaped shows because of editing. This isn't a thread saying that the WWE will fall, this is a thread about asking if wrestling will die if the WWE dies.

this is speaking completely hypothetically because I don't see the wwe failing in the near future if ever... but if it did fail companies like tna would just become more popular... people get into professional wrestling at a young age and want their children to have the same chance to see something that on certain nights, seems unreal... and professional wrestling gives people that chance

think about all the great moments just in the past 20 years that professional wrestling has provided... it won't fall off national tv IMO

IF it were to happen, TNA would be king (as it were) and we would possibly see the existence of territories again.....and TNA would be the enemy of the IWC, you can bet on that

I have a feeling if this happen... you would sit behind your computer with a huge smile reading all the bashing tna comments on this site

I, personally, don't see wrestling flourishing if WWE falls. It's more or less the standard bearer, if it goes - wrestling is going to take a huge hit, if not outright collapse beyond repair. Everything will probably break up, go back to the old days, and slowly dwindle.

Why do people think I hate TNA? I just hate the double standard both (some) WWE and TNA fans exhibit when it comes to comparing the two. And TNA fans have "small mans syndrome" so they tend to be worse! You should have realised by now - it's not about the promotions - I HATE THE FANS!!!

If WWE failed I'd stop watching wrestling, don't like TNA, too low budget, like a magpie I need the shiny things WWE gives me!

You're exactly right. TNA gets a pass for the things that they do. And you guys do realize that WWE is a billion dollar company even with the recession, right? It's not falling anytime soon just because the 2% that is the IWC bitch and complain about wrestling as a whole. They find ways to bring in new audiences, all the while keeping true fans interested in their product. And with the expansion of social media and other innovative ways to reach new audiences globally, I think it's only going to grow.
