This is the best thread I've ever read on here. Great read man.
You are spot on when you say that ECW isn't what it's made out to be by the fans who claim that it was superior to the in-ring work of WCW and WWE at the time which couldn't be anymore further from the truth. It's often made out to be the company where the wrestling was at it's best and the storylines were better than WCW and WWE which isn't the case at all. For every great match they produced like the RVD vs Jerry Lynn series, they produced a lot of cringe-worthy ones as well. Now I understand that Paul Heyman's vision of ECW was to change to perception of wrestling being black and white and all about being hardcore but he gets WAY too much credit for stuff he shouldn't get. He often blames Eric Bischoff of stealing his talent and being sleazy with his product in which he did so himself at times.
I commend Paul Heyman for at least trying to have a different vision that inspired Vince Mcmahon with the Attitude Era in some ways but he tried to do things with ECW that he knew he couldn't do which made the ECW product suffer in the end.
And I too get tired of people not letting ECW rest in peace. It was a great time but you can never relive that magic again.
