Disappointing. That sums it up in one word, at least as far as the matches went. None of the matches were both good enough and long enough to really get me excited. Am I getting jaded? Maybe, but I doubt it.
The 6-man tag team opener was OK, but there really isn't a huge feud built up or any titles there. Maybe they're trying to start a feud between PTP and Rey Cara. But why have R-Truth and Cesaro involved? Hasn't Cesaro been going back and forth with Gabriel? Did I miss something?
Bryan v Rhodes was a good match but way too short for satisfaction. Same with Kane v Sandow. Though I really appreciate the UK audience getting into the matches as much as they do, more so it seems than a lot of USA audiences.
Miz v Sheamus was a decent match, though the commentating for at least half of the contest had nothing to do with what was going on in the ring. There was never any doubt in my mind as to who was going to win, and why they had the match in the first place is a complete mystery. Well, not complete, they needed to fill air time I guess.
Divas match, 'nuff said. ADR and Kofi was reasonable, actually, but seems to have been put there just to build up heat between Orton and ADR. CoBro vs Rosa's Boys was entertaining at least, and we got to see Rosa on-screen again. Clay and Barrett ... pointless. I thought maybe Clay would be the pick to replace Ryback at SS, but with that showing he wouldn't be believable. Funkadactyls looked pretty hot tonight though.
Slater v Uso wasn't bad, it showed Slater can be somewhat effective in the ring. The Usos and Rosa's Boys haven't been around much lately, I hope this is a sign that they're coming back up the ranks. But where was Drew? Shouldn't he be there for a UK show?
(EDIT: Just read that Drew's mum is quite ill. His absence is understandable.)
The main event was almost as predictable as the sun rising, and it did absolutely nothing to further any of the storylines. Formulaic match we've seen before: Cena gets beat down and can't tag for a while, but then gets the tag and his partner comes in and destroys the opponents. Great. Did I care? Not really.
I did enjoy the reactions of the UK crowd, though. From the loud chant for Daniel Bryan, to the support given Barrett, to the rather dismal reaction when Ryback came out ... they aren't like US crowds, that's for sure!
