Welp, the new Walking Dead show-runner for Season 4 is the screenwriter responsible for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. So, yeah, the show is pretty much fucked. The move was made so network executives can dictate the creative process from here on out.

Kirkman is a big part of the reason things are going to shit. He knows fuck all about making quality television, and he's reportedly the one who pushed for Glen Mazzara (the guy who turned the show from one being full of potential into one actually realizing it) to be shown the door.

The creator of Sons of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter, worked with Mazzara on The Shield, and he had some rather illuminating things to say about the whole situation (which can be found here).
