Jane Lynch is indeed great but I won't go near Glee (I'm single, see?). It's way too over the top for me, I think it sets some bad examples and glosses over serious themes with it's candy coating. And autotune - fuck that! Used to be you actually had to rely on your voice as an instrument. Ha. Of course, it's very appealing to the gay community and pre-teen Twilight fans so it'll keep going for the forseeable future

Elijah Wood should be good in Wilfred. But some things are badly translated, like Kath & Kim. Did they call it that over there? Yeah, that humour is uniquely Australian.

Never was a Doc Who fan. Never got into Skins and Shameless (although I kick myself for the latter), but Inbetweeners and Misfits? Now your talking!

Outnumbered is another favourite of mine and the wife's. For an actress who appears to be under ten years of age, Ramona Marquez (who was also in the Kings Speech) is absolutely hilarious!

Fear not RobStar. I'm pretty much unshockable when it comes to viewing habits. I watched (and loved) the first season of Ugly Betty, and it's hard to get much more camp than that! Let's just say when it comes to television, my habits are somewhat diverse, and there's not many shows I won't at least try once.

Shit! Ive missed alot of discussion about TV since last time I was on! Gonna try and get involved with multiple things brought up. There may be a few posts.

To Iron Ape:
Thanks for sharing some of that info on some the aspects of what you do, and projects you've worked/working on, was quite interesting. Thats very cool, some of the things that you're doing/have done. It must be amazing seeing something of your creation in its visual, physical form on screen! Although as you say one was sort of rewritten and rewritten, but still it must be great!

Yeah I had kinda heard that in America, lots and lots of money is first put into getting a pilot made that may never even be picked up, and that loads are made that just never make it. Which is kind of different to the UK, i think, where pilots and such are slightly rare, but i dont know too much about it so dont take my word for it.

Haha no worries on the dirt, I asked partly in jest, secretly hoping there was some top actor/writer who cant put 5 words together, lol no. But i have just Googled Melissa Rosenberg and after seeing the first two projects she wrote for, I think I may actually heed your warnings on her. Just for reference those projects were The OC, and Step UP! Which I can tell you, they cant be further from what I would ever consider taking an interest in! Ever! Oh and she also wrote the screenplay for Twilight films, which are alright, just very not my cup of tea!

I will say that Jane Lynch is pure gold in anything she does, and is the only reason I would willing turn my head in the direction of the TV when it's on.

If you like Jane Lynch, you have to check out the seriously underrated Party Down. It was a show on Starz that she did right before Glee hit it big, and I think you'll dig the shit out of it. The whole thing is about the triumphs and humiliations that befall a group of aspiring writers and actors who happen to cater various parties and events to pay their bills. It got cancelled after two seasons because no one was watching it, but it's funny as fuck and well worth watching.

Anyone into Burn Notice? It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia?

Trailer Park Boys I loved!!! A few years ago while at Uni, I did what could only be done and watched every season over like 3 days, you know what am i gonna do? Study? Nooooo! I wish theyd make more! I know they had a live tour sort of thing, as it was or is coming over here sometime, but I couldnt afford tickets at that time, also to the fact that I dont know anyone else who has watched that show!

With Lost, pretty much the exact same thing happened to me that happened to Iron Ape! I watched the first 2 seasons then missed the next few and then couldnt get back into it! I think it was after it moved from Channel 4 to Sky, and we never had Sky until recently, so was never able to watch it. Then I lost interest in it, and actually didnt want to get wrapped up in it. Then, quite laughable actually, I watched the last few episodes of the final season, and it made no sense too me! I kept asking questions and it confused me. Ive gotta say though the explanation of "it all" was a bit of a letdown for me, for what was this "huge, amazing, greatest show ever". Wasnt the ending what everyone called it after the first season? Maybe if im able to sit down and watch all them back to back il get more into it and really like it, which is something I must do, as im sure some of my relatives have some of the DVDs.

Shameless is great. I like it. I think the first few series were better, and i think its a become a bit more of a comedic and unbelievable but its still good, and i make time for watching it. I need to check out the US remake because ive read good things about that aswell.

Anyone into Burn Notice? It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia?

Burn Notice is kind of fluffy, but I find it enjoyable enough. It's a show that doesn't really require my undivided attention, so I find it's a good one to keep running in the background while I hammer out some work. Sometimes it goes to these dark, serious little places that hint at something greater, and I often wonder what kind of show it would be if they zeroed in on that stuff and ran with it. It's probably better off as it is, though.

I find It's Always Sunny sort of hit and miss, and the constant bickering can be a bit grating at times, but some of its highs are really quite brilliant. Also, Charlie Kelly is one of the most consistently hilarious characters in comedy today.

IASIP has it's moments sure. I feel like it just needs to find itself a bit. Burn Notice - c'mon, Bruce Campbell in regular work? That's always a plus for me.

I liked that you mentioned Modern Family, that show had a rocky start though but is a perfect example of a show finding it's audience and being something of it's own.

I've watched that new William Shatner one, it's more than likely already cancelled, but I'm a big fan of Nicole Sullivan & Will Sasso - I liked the old Mad TV. Parks & Recreation seems promising
