Didnt really enjoy season 1 but Season 2 was excellent. Grissom is a excellent character.
Is New York or Miama any good in comparison or are they really bad?
Miami is excellent if you like your cop shows cheesy. David Caruso is bound to give you at least a couple of belly laughs per episode. It doesn't take itself very seriously half the time, and it shows. It's both the show's strength and it's weakness.
New York started okay as the first season or two had a refresingly gritty feel compared to the other two shows, but it's went on a downward's spiral to the point that it's now unwatchable. Gary Sinise (who I rather like BTW) has became totally wooden, there's isn't any real chemistry between the main cast, and nobody has a unique personality that sticks out. It has the best theme music though.
PROTIP:
CSI:Trilogy. Watch these three crossover episodes and gauge your own feelings on which style you like the most.
