If what Ape says is true then they have pretty much put themselves in that position. I'm not blaming them in any way but one follows the other, in due course

Yep, they knew what they were getting into when they decided to strike. I'm sure the reasons for the strike were entirely warranted and all, but such is the risk.

Anyways, should these plants get back up and running (which they, by all accounts, will), I'm sure there will be many opportunities for them to get their jobs back. If not them, then maybe someone else in need of some work will be able to slide in.

Those Hostess executives were no doubt Romney supporters. Rich old white guys gotta eat!

My grandma worked at one of the Hostess bakeries for over 25 years. In all that time she never worked less than 60 hours a week, and though loading trucks for years left her with a back more twisted and jacked up than a crazy straw on acid, she got screwed over on her medical bills. All this was with a union that spent each "Negotiations" as far as anyone could tell, yelling and telling Hostess that they had to actually hire more people.

After all of that, the news of Hostess closing neither surprises or saddens me. The snacks will live on, and Little Debbie's are tastier anyway (Swiss Rolls FTW)

Apparently Hostess and the labor unions are going to mediation tomorrow. People who paid $60 for Twinkies on eBay to be potentially open for further ridicule on Wednesday.
