My grandma worked at one of the Hostess bakeries for over 25 years. In all that time she never worked less than 60 hours a week, and though loading trucks for years left her with a back more twisted and jacked up than a crazy straw on acid, she got screwed over on her medical bills. All this was with a union that spent each "Negotiations" as far as anyone could tell, yelling and telling Hostess that they had to actually hire more people.
After all of that, the news of Hostess closing neither surprises or saddens me. The snacks will live on, and Little Debbie's are tastier anyway (Swiss Rolls FTW)
