Personally, I feel that lay could do with some time off screen, his character is very one dimensional, and he can't dance. If he was to stay as the 'Funkasaurus' he could really do with perfecting his character and nailing the perfomance side of it. However a better use of his time might be to work on a new gimmick, or find a way to work the Funkasaurus as a more intense/aggressive character like the seemed to be making him when he was going up against the Big Show.
Let me know who and what you think.
If you watch NXT, there's usually people on there who are also on the main roster (and i don't mean guests like CM Punk).
There are some talents that are technically both NXT and WWE roster members;
Jinder Mahal, Drew Mcintyre, Trent Barretta, Usos, Tamina, camacho, cesaro has made several appearances on NXT lately too.
Personally, i wouldn't waste time on people over 40 being put in developmental, it's not a good investment of time. So people like Khali i'd forget it. I would have said Tensai with a revamped character (even if it's still Tensai gimmick) but i think he's a bit too old for a solid investment.
I'd say those who need character development/need to get used to their new character before being called up;
JTG (i have no idea what his gimmick is; he wears a black jacket, that's about it)
I'd say have Johnny curtis do a similar gimmick to guage a reaction before debuting as fandango
Usos (who currently have been relegated to NXT lately due to their feud with Ascension, mainly because we actually have a bit of depth to the tag division currently so NXT gives them something to do whilst not on the main shows)
Primo and Epico (They are hispanic and have a hot valet. That's about it. They are basically tag team division's version of heath slater - before 3mb)
However, i think anyon ei can think of that needs help are probably going to be released soon anyway. Plus, it takes time out of investing in other talents.
