381: The Magic Number

Tomorrow Decemeber 5th 2012 CM Punk will enter the history books by holding the wwe championship for 381 days. To put this feat into perspective that's the longest continuous title reign for this belt since February 5th 1988 when Hogan lost to Andre. Almost a quarter of a century has passed since someone held the title for longer than punk but where does this stand in the all time accomplishments. It's scripted entertainment we all know that but holding a title is more difficult in this era especially with today's instant gratification Internet crowd that recycle though wrestlers quickly and demand the belt be placed on the new flavor of the month.
