You could have threats to remove the title on Raw if he doesn't defend it and hype all night that Punk's going to have to decide whether to compete injured or give up the title. Heyman will be telling him that you can't go out there and wrestle you have to give up the belt. Punk decides to wrestle and the commentators play up how regardless of what Punk has done they really respect him for having the courage to come out and defend when he can only walk on one leg. Then the Shield comes out from under the ring and attacks whoever he is facing causing a DQ. Then Shield teases attacking Punk only for him to slink out of the ring and stare them down.

Although the 'E won't do this, this is still a good idea.

Here's what i'd propose:

- Vickie Guerro is pressured into stripping Cm Punk of the title by Vince McMahon.
- It's announce that John Cena will face The Rock for the vacant title at the Royal Rumble
- Towards the end of the Cena/Rock match, The Shield attack both The Rock and Cena so the match ends in a double disqualification.
- Cm Punk enters the Rumble as a surprise entrant and wins it, last eliminating Ryback.
- Ryback, Cena and The Rock face The Shield and Cm Punk in a 3 vs 4 handicap match at EC. The Shield and Cm Punk win after
a Triple Powerbomb is followed by a Macho Man Elbow on Cena.
- Cm Punk vs The Rock vs John Cena is booked for Wrestlemania. Ryback continues his feud with The Shield.
