So, like, I had been getting a bit of a kick out of some of the interwebbers acting like the world was coming to an end because Three Days Grace's singer quit the band. I thought, just like most other modern rock radio acts, that all of their stuff sounded same-y and not particularly inspired. Anyways, I decided to give a listen to the stuff with the new singer, and holy shit. Adam Gontier wasn't even much of a vocalist, but he apparently turned out to be the entire identity of the band. The remaining guys need to just hang it the fuck up.

I never mocked her Dennis. I just said I didn't like her voice. I'm sure she's a perfectly nice person and everything. And I used the Joan Baez reference because to me, that's exactly how she sounds - like Baez with the constant vibrato in her voice only being in a lower register. And I'm quite sure that I didn't take the Metallica thing personally, since I listen to much else besides that. It's not like I listen to Metallica and think "Man that's the best thing ever!" lol (they're not Foo Fighters after all!)

I will gladly admit that I like to foo fighters a lot. there is no problem in liking a bands music.

Ha, no. To be honest I don't like them much more than other bands that I like. They are clearly my favorite band, but bands Like Florence + the machine, The xx, Incubus, Red hot chili peppers, and Nirvana are right there too.... I just find it amusing that you were taking an obvious shot at me with the foo fighter comment. So I focused on what I thought was the funniest part of your comment.

Three Days Grace star Adam Gontier has written an open letter to assure fans he is still sober, after he sparked speculation about his health by quitting the band.

The Canadian rockers cited unspecified "health issues" when Gontier's departure was announced on Wednesday, prompting fears the frontman is once again battling substance abuse issues following a successful stint in rehab in 2005.

Gontier has now written a heartfelt note explaining he left Three Days Grace to pursue new projects, and not to deal with addiction.

His statement reads, "It is important for me to address any concerns regarding my health being connected to drugs or addiction. The truth is, when I was struggling during that dark time in my life, I hit rock bottom, and I had the kindest of people reach out from all over the world, and reach their hands out to help pick me up... The truth is, and I'm very proud to say this... I am sober. That chapter in my life is over.

"There have been many defining moments in my life. My time as part of Three Days Grace is most definitely one of the miraculous ones. (But) after twenty years of being part of an ever evolving band, I have been inspired by life to move on and to continue to evolve on my own terms."

Singer Matt Walst has been recruited as Gontier's replacement as Three Days Grace prepares to head out on tour next month with Shinedown.
