The artists listed in the two websites above should definately be looked into Denny. I'd also include many of the works by Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I am biast towards most Texas based musicians... Pantera, ZZ Top, Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, The Sword, Butthole Surfers, The Toadies, Drowning Pool, Mars Volta, Flyleaf... I have a fond spot for any band that can come from the Lone Star State.

Thanks for your help man. I just broke 60 artists, I'm going out in about an hour... so I should get to about 80 I think. it's tough to think of artists... then you have to think of your favorite song by that artist.... and sometimes it doesn't even matter because who knows if that song will land in your top 50 ahha.

I knew you'd open your eyes once you were introduced to diversity. Start tracking some of those artists’ songs and plugging them into YouTube. You'd be amazed at how something that so many called "Trash" actually have some value when you take lyrical content into thought - Basically, this is directed at the majority view of the band Skid Row. While the epitome of "Hair Band", they had some great lyrical tunes in 18 & Life and Youth Gone Wild (for me at least).

If you do manage to spend the time on YouTube looking for some of these artists, I suggest punching in Tesla, Queensryche, Europe (Fucking LOVE Final Count Down), and George Thorogood & the Destroyers ("No Particular Place to Go" & "I Drink Alone" are particularly good songs). Also check out John Lee Hooker for one of his famous tracks "1 Bourbon, 1 Scotch, 1 Beer." Solid story telling in a song.
