Another random thought that me and my friends were talking about yesterday. Apparently I don't like music that you can dance to? Do you guys notice that with the songs that you like? I told the person who told me that, that I would rather not dance anyway so that wouldn't have any bearing on if I choose to like a song or not haha.

There has been some talk about the song Little black submarines being a rip off of a led zepplin like sound. Particularly stairway to heaven. I think I disagree. I will agree that they have similar song progression, but I don't think there is any problem with having a similar song progression as a great song... I hear songs what follow smells like teen spirits progression all the time. What do you guys think?

Firstly, there's nothing new under the sun.

Secondly, don't say "what follow". It's that follow

I am a big fan of the band Blink-182 and the fact that after their hiatus, they are still as good as ever but, what i want to talk about is members Tom Delong and Mark Hoppus..they are both in other bands both together and apart and have not fared as well as they did in Blink but, still have produced good music..

so what i am wanting to discuss is whether or not some musicians should stay in their name sake or should they venture out with new bands and new work?

I actually like Blink 182 better after their hiatus to be honest.

I think some artists need to move out of their original bands, Dave Grohl wouldn't be such a legend if he never started foo fighters. Though, I think in a lot of cases artists are better off staying in their first band.

I liked them both before and after
Dave Grohl was seen as the quiet one and when he formed The Foo Fighters he came into his own as a musician

I think you are right. He's a great drummer, and I think he brought a fresh sound to rock and roll.
