I had the opposite. I was the big guy who everyone saw as a person to "test" in order to step up in the social rankings. I have been in more fights than I can count, but I have only been hit in the mouth once and I ALWAYS gave them the option to squash it before it got started. It didn't matter what my friends looked like as most fights around here still end up as a 1 on 1 regardless of the amount of people on one side or the other.

Interesting... around here group fights tend to be the thing... unless it's a girl fight... those are hilarious and almost 1 vs 1 fights.

I guess around my parts people would rather take the ass whooping than to be known as someone who couldn't handle their own in an altercation. There were times when it would be a mob parking lot similar to that in the movie "The Outsiders" but those times were usually when some others in the crowd already had a previous beef. Outside of that, most would have their crew stand on the outskirts than to be known as the kid who needed his boys to do his work for them... Those were the kids who were quickly secluded for not being strong enough to run with the pack.

Maybe... as I said before I always avoided fights... I was only 5'3" during my early years in high school so no one really could prove anything by fighting me... and when I turned into a junior/senior I was 6' and 220 pounds... Not many people want to fight someone that size... plus it's not quite big enough for it to be something worth bragging about. as far as fighting with packs of people... I don't really know the difference... because as I said... I have never been in a fight. The closest thing I have done is wrestle.
