New Programming for TNA in 2013

TNA has confirmed via the TNA Genesis 2013 VIP Package presser that the company is scheduled to film an all new show at the Impact Zone on Saturday January 12 2013 at 12:00PM and 6:00PM. The presser does not reveal the show name, merely saying but does request a studio audience for "TWO shows are being filmed this day. VIP Weekend holders gain early access to BOTH shows!" and "ALL NEW programming presented by TNA Wrestling". The notice is very vague and does not mention if both shows that day will be new programming.This most likely indicates that the show will contain some unique wrestling matches and not just a mere recap and talk segment like Xplosion has during half of their telecast.

TNA Director of Travel Bob Ryder revealed on his Official twitter Account some more information on the new programming TNA previously announced on their TNA Genesis 2013 Pay Per View Press Release. Ryder wrote:

"More info on the programming being taped Jan 12 as part of the Genesis VIP Wknd. One session will feature 7 tag team matches & a gauntlet."


"The other session being taped on Jan 12 focuses on X Division action and will feature an X-Scape Cage match and an Ultimate X match."

I thinking this either will be a straight to DVD or hopefully new shows, they are experimenting with??? Really TNA does need secondary programming..... If it straight to DVD it for were they cutting back on PPVs, I would believe!!

I am seriously hoping the are making a proper secondary show even if its just an hour long. (And yes i do know about Xplosion but seriously now 1 match a match from the past and 20 minutes of the last IMPACT! show is hardly a secondary show).

I'm thinking it's some special DVD thing, or some special for Spike to air.

I don't see either of these being made into a fully-fledged show, without TNA going through some major hiring spikes.

TNA is scheduled to tape programming to fill their February PPV vacancy on January 12, according to the Wrestling Observer, which is the day before the Genesis PPV.

The purpose is to create a show for TNA's international PPV partners to fill the February PPV slot. Right now, the plan is to rely heavily on X Division stars.

Three matches reportedly planned for the event include an Ultimate X match, an X Division Escape match, and a traditional TNA gauntlet match.

Two TV tapings are scheduled for Jan. 12, according to the Genesis VIP Weekend info on TNA's website. The first taping begins at 12:00 p.m. and the second taping takes place at 6:00 p.m. [ Details here at ImpactWrestling.com ]

As we reported last week, early 2013 will include a mix of live and taped TNA Impact episodes in January, the Genesis PPV on Jan. 13, no PPV in February, and one full month of U.K. TV episodes in February. TNA will then likely go live on the first Impact of March leading into the Lockdown PPV.

i think tna can barely do a decent show, they cant make two, it would be their ruin

I think having two shows would be excellent. They could handle more programs at once without it getting messy and crowded.

Xplosion, Reaction, and Ring Ka King have all failed miserably. I expect the same results for the next new show.
